Summer makes everything seem brighter, and visiting the beautiful sunflower farms around New Jersey is one activity that feels so happy. When you pick sunflowers or hang out in a field, you can’t help but soak up their good vibes. Luckily, New Jersey is home to a bunch of sunflower farms where you can bliss out from July into September (check with each farm to find out their peak blooming time). And while most let you pick stems, there are a few fields solely for snapping insta-worthy photos or getting lost in a maze among the blooms. Brodhecker Farm will have sunflowers blooming in August. Stop by the fields to admire and snap photos of the black oil seed beauties, which produce high-quality seeds and oil.

New Jersey Sunflower Trail at Von Thun Farms –The New Jersey Sunflower Trail is open now, and sunflower festivals are held in August
Kids will have a blast on the sunflower trail, which is now open. Besides photo ops and picking, the farm features farm animals, activities, games, and a sunflower festival in August. The Sunflower Trail is ONLY available at their Washington, NJ, location – not their South Brunswick location.

Ort Farms – Mid-July to late August
Take a stroll through this colorful sunflower farm in New Jersey, pick sunflowers, and snap flower photos. They host fall festival weekends and offer a “pick-your-own” pumpkin patch (late September to late October) and apple orchard (August to October).

Snyder’s Farm – U-pick Sunflowers is open during the fall festival weekends in October
The u-pick sunflower opportunity offers picking in late September and October with spots for photo ops. You can bring your own shears or rent them (the fee will be used to purchase the sunflowers).

Argos Farm – Sunflower Festival starts August 4, 2025
Snap photos or snip sunflowers during the golden hour on the farm. While you are there, try some tasty treats on the farm, and the kids will love the attractions like the Cow Train Ride and the Bee Zipline.

Bullock Farms – Typically available from mid-September to Halloween
Bullock Farms’ sunflower season begins in September, when they open Bullock Barnyard, a family-friendly activity area. Take a stroll and take photos in the fields, then visit with barnyard friends like rabbits, goats, and sheep. Call the farm ahead for opening dates.

Dalton Farms is an excellent spot to pick sunflowers. Sunflower season runs from Labor Day through October, but you can stay up-to-date on when the fields are blooming by visiting their website.
