It’s our nation’s 250th birthday! And to celebrate, NJ is bringing out the red, white, and blue to a bunch of patriotic and celebratory events this summer. Bring the family for a fun day of patriotic cheer including live music, kid’s activities, over 20 food trucks, fireworks, and more at the Star-Spangled Spectacular in Leonia, take a historical bike tour, a summer concert featuring historical activities and characters, and a Betsy Rose flag raising at the Union Township 250 Celebration, or watch the Somerset Patriots play four games this season as the Somerset Semiquincentennials. Starting in May

Fireworks, Drones & America’s 250th on the Delaware
July 3-5
New Hope and Lambertville come together for a three day America 250th festival featuring Revolutionary-era theater, a synchronized fireworks and 200-drone sky show, music, a lively parade, dragon boat racing, and church bells ringing across both towns. There will also be local specials at restaurants and shops.

Somerset Semiquincentennials
July 3-4 and August 15
In celebration of our country’s 250th birthday, the Somerset Patriots will play four games this season as the Somerset Semiquincentennials. Tickets will sell out fast for these games, so make sure you get them now.

Elizabeth Fireworks & Celebration

Cape May 250th Anniversary Events

Cape May MAC, in collaboration with the City of Cape May, presents a series of events, talks, community gatherings, exhibits, and musical performances that honor the 250th anniversary milestone at the Cape May Welcome Center from November 2025 – December 31, 2026. Other events include Creating Independence: Inside the Congress that Changed History on July 1, From Hearth & Home to the Battle: Black Colonial Life in the Revolutionary Era in West & East Jersey on August 5, The Music of Freedom – A Musical Celebration of the 250th on June 21. Lighthouse & Fireworks Climb on July 3, and celebrate Independence Day weekend with a special evening lighthouse climb and views of the fireworks.
