Here’s What To Know About Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS® 2025
After dark, Six Flags Fright Fest turns up the scare factor
If you want to get a good look at all the scary, fun Halloween decorations before they turn creepy, make sure you visit the park before dark. As soon as the sun dips below the horizon, the foggy haze and eerie sounds turn up, setting the stage for creepiness and a spooky Halloween night. Even the traditional water fountain in the central square lights up with ghostly Halloween lights, giving the park a mysterious and chilling feel. Be warned—there are jump scares—frightening characters dressed in zombie-like costumes that troll the park and pop out when you least expect them. This year, you can expect to see legendary horror brands come to life, adding a new level of scare from cult favorite movies and shows like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Conjuring.
Dare to enter the Six Flags Fright Fest haunted mazes
The highlight of Fright Fest is the haunted mazes, where these intricate labyrinths unleash thrilling surprises and spine-tingling atmospheres, sending shivers down your spine. No spoiler here, but the nine premium haunted themes—The Conjuring Universe, Army of the Dead, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Trick r’ Treat, Big Top Terror, The Asylum, The Witches Reflections— will keep you on your toes and satisfy each Halloween thrill seeker.

What lurks in the shadows of the scare zones
Brace yourself—clowns, zombies, and demons await you in the shadows, prepared to turn your night into a disturbing nightmare. There are five scare zones (themed areas with props and their own sets of scary characters) set up throughout the park, including The Bloody Fountain, Curse of Blackbeard’s Bounty, CarnEvil, Exile Canyon, and the new Plaza De La Muerte. Each one will keep you looking over your shoulder. Some have hazy smoke and frightful creatures, but if you ask nicely, the unearthly characters will take a selfie with you—Boo!
The BEST part of the Six Flags Fright Fest
If you need a break from the scares but still want a haunting experience, be sure to check out the “Monstertainment” shows, such as Unleashed, Blade Drummers, and Freak Show, for a dose of macabre entertainment. For most, though, the best part of heading to Six Flags for Fright Fest is hitting the coasters, especially at night. In the dark, the adrenaline rush of slowly climbing up and dropping 130 ft while going 58 mph is a chilling thrill like no other. And for coaster fans, Six Flags’ Jersey Devil Coaster is the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest single-rail coaster, packing a maximum thrill level, especially in moonlight.
What to know before you go
Fright Fest runs from September 12 to November 2, 2025, with mature themes that are graphic and may be too intense for younger kids. All kids 15 and younger must be accompanied by a chaperone age 21+ with a valid government-issued photo ID to be admitted to or remain in the park after 5 PM on Fright Fest Nights. Guests 16 or older may be asked to present a valid government-issued photo identification. Fright Fest Tickets start at $35; the Daytime Admission + Fright Fest Bundle tickets are $79 each, and the Gold Pass with access to 40+ Six Flags Parks, unlimited visits through 2026, free general parking, and a bonus bring-a-friend ticket for $79. There is no park re-entry for Fright Fest, and costumes are not allowed. Keep in mind that there’s plenty of walking throughout each attraction, so wearing comfy shoes is a must. The park has also gone cashless, so take advantage of the lockers provided (pay at the kiosk) and keep a credit card or debit card in your pocket.
If you have kids under 13, there’s still plenty of daytime Halloween fun at Six Flags Great Adventure with Kids Boofest 2025. Families can visit during the day to experience Boo Fest (weekends, September 13-November 2) and Oktoberfest (weekends, September-November).
