Cue the fireworks and parades—Fourth of July in New Jersey is coming up fast. The holiday falls on a Saturday this year (hello, fun weekend!); we’re celebrating the Quinticentennial with lots of family-friendly activities the week leading up to it and days after. Honor Independence Day at one of the Fourth of July Parades happening throughout New Jersey, including in Moorestown and Smithville; watch performances at Star-Spangled Spectacular in Leonia; or watch the sky light up during Fireworks on Battleship New Jersey in Camden. Head to Casino Pier for a red, white, and blue celebration including patriotic characters, free face painting, patriotic drummers, and a beach ball drop. Then, when the sky gets dark, watch the gorgeous fireworks celebration.

Fourth of July Events in Avalon
July 2-4
Kick off the Fourth celebrations with a reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 2 at Surfside Park, followed by live music from American Soul. On July 3, watch a golf cart parade at Surfside Park, and then on July 3, head to the Avalon Yacht Club for a boat parade, hang at the beach, and then catch the fireworks lighting up the night.

Denville Days will transform Gardner Field into a vibrant festival grounds featuring three full days of live music and entertainment, including a Friday night kickoff under the big tent, a dedicated kids activity area with games and hands-on crafts, picnic spaces with food vendors and classic festival fare, a beer garden, friendly competitions and contests for all ages, an arts and crafts market, exciting tethered hot air balloon rides (weather permitting), and the town’s traditional fireworks display lighting up the July sky.

Fireworks, Drones & America’s 250th on the Delaware

New Hope and Lambertville come together for a three day America 250th festival featuring Revolutionary-era theater, a synchronized fireworks and 200-drone sky show, music, a lively parade, dragon boat racing, and church bells ringing across both towns. There will also be local specials at restaurants and shops.

Smithville Fourth of July Parade

This parade kicks off at the Smithville Town Center with patriotic costumes, fire trucks, antique cars, and more. The parade will follow its usual route: east on Smithville Boulevard to Moss Mill Road, then west on Moss Mill to Historic Smithville. Up to 10,000 people are expected to line the parade route, ending with an Independence Day ceremony in Smithville’s Village Greene.

This year’s parade theme is Let Freedom Ring. Watch floats, marchers, and bands along the parade route, which starts on Chester Avenue at the E. Central Avenue intersection. The route continues up Chester Avenue, turns right onto Main Street, and continues to Church Street.

Oceanfest

It’s the biggest Fourth of July event in the Garden State. Come to Festival Plaza from 1 PM to 10 PM for rock wall climbing, inflatables, trampoline bungee jumping, rides, and games, followed by fireworks at 9 PM.

Florham Park Fourth of July Celebration

Come out for Florham Park’s largest July 4th celebration ever, beginning with a flag-raising ceremony at 9 AM at the firehouse, followed by our patriotic parade, the longest running in New Jersey history. After the parade, head over to the Boro lawn for a family picnic and activities, including kiddie rides. There will be live music, an ’80s tribute band, and the biggest fireworks display ever put on in Florham Park.

Make this Independence Day weekend a family event at Cold Spring Village’s annual Independence Day Celebration. This event features a variety of family activities, programs, and music. There will be a Militia Muster for children ages 5 to 12, followed by a reading of the Declaration of Independence and much more.
