Children will explore colors by making a liquid rainbow and going on a fun scavenger hunt! They will make sunshine and rainbow art to take home. Other activities include a story time or a mini gallery program and an art project.

2. Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair
Friday, August 28 thru Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, closed on Sunday’s
Fridays and Saturdays from 6 pm to 11 pm
Monday thru Thursday from 6 pm to 10 pm
The firehouse grounds are transformed into blazing lights, sounds and activities, including rides like the Zipper, Rainbow, Wipeout, and a large ferris wheel. There’s also a merry-go-round, train and other rides tailored for the smaller folks. But for the future firefighters, children are safely seated on one of Fair Haven’s first-line pumpers and taken on a ride around several blocks in Fair Haven. No child forgets the thrill of a ride with the siren blaring and the engine roaring!

3. Full Moon Hike
Friday, August 28, 2015 from 7:30 pm to 9 pm
Come out and welcome the full moon of August – also called the Green Corn Moon and the Sturgeon Moon. This hike is 2-miles long along moonlit trails. This hike is appropriate for ages 7 and up.

9. Juvenile Diabetes and The Food Allergy Anaphylaxis Network Crab Race

Purchase your “crab” for only $5 and it will be released into the Revolutionary River at Breakwater Beach in a race to benefit Juvenile Diabetes and the Food Allergy Anaphylaxis Network. Winning crab gets $100 and a 10 All-Day Passes to Breakwater Beach for the 2016 season. All proceeds from the event go directly to JDRF and FAAN in hopes of finding a cure for these diseases.

15. 13th Annual Heirloom Tomato-Tasting Festival
