There are only 68 days until summer (but hey, we’re not counting or anything), and while the weather is still getting warmer, it’s a good time to plan what your kids will do during their time off. And if sending them to one of the NJ camps is on your radar, looking into them sooner rather than later will help you find the best camp for your kid, especially since some fill up by spring. There’s no denying how awesome a camp experience can be—it’s a space where kids can grow and blossom in a stress-free environment, meet new friends, and try novel things. And there are so many ways a kid can do camp, whether exploring new activities at a day camp, experiencing the great outdoors at a classic camp, honing their skills at a specialty camp, or gaining independence at a sleepaway camp. Your kiddos may already be pro campers, but keep in mind that your child’s needs shift with each growth stage, so you may be looking at a whole new experience each summer. Read on for camps from our NJ MOM Partners, and get ready for an amazing summer in 2025. (featured photo credit: istock/MaxTopchij)

Celebrate innovation this summer at Montclair Kimberley Academy’s new STEM + Explorers program

As we mark 250 years of American independence, we also celebrate the incredible scientific and technological progress that has shaped our world. STEM + Explorers invites middle school students to step into that legacy by building the skills needed to solve today’s—and tomorrow ’s—challenges. Each morning, students dive into hands-on classes that strengthen key 21st century skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They’ll explore cutting-edge tools, creative problem-solving strategies, and the foundational knowledge that drives modern innovation. In the afternoon, full-day students put their learning into action. Working collaboratively, they take on weekly design challenges inspired by real issues facing communities around the globe—from sustainability to engineering to emerging technologies. These projects empower students to think critically, innovate boldly, and see their ideas come to life. The program runs July 6 through July 31, 2026, for rising 6th through rising 9th-graders. Families may enroll students for either the full-day experience or morning-only classes. Join us for a summer of curiosity, creativity, and discovery at our newly built Inquiry & Innovation Center at 6 Lloyd Road, Montclair, NJ —where students learn, imagine, and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

The Craig School is an independent school specializing in serving students with learning disabilities in grades 2–12. Our program features proven, research-based learning strategies, including Multi-Sensory Learning and a Comprehensive, Whole-Child Approach, and tools that allow students to build their academic foundations, increase their ability to be active and independent learners, and develop a sense of who they are as individuals and students. The mission of The Craig School is to provide to our students a strategy-based, comprehensive and challenging school experience that acknowledges their learning disabilities, builds on their aptitudes, and strengthens their self-awareness and self-esteem. We help our parents assess their child’s true potential and understand the nature of learning disabilities, and provide our families with an internal support network within the Craig community. Our core values are that learning disabilities and learning styles should be acknowledged, understood, and addressed, in addition to supporting a student’s academic development, a school should also nurture his/her social, emotional, and moral growth and all students can and will learn if the right environment and opportunities are provided.
