This weekend visit the oldest fossils in the state at Written in the Rocks: Fossil Tales of New Jersey in Trenton, ice skate at Winterfest on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, or stop by the Nacho Muthas Holiday Popup for fun snacks and treats in Paramus.

Here are 10 kid-friendly things to do around New Jersey this weekend:

WinterFest on the Cooper River
Now through February 18, 2019
WinterFest on the Cooper River is back and bringing a winter wonderland to you. Your littles will love ice skating on the river, munching on tasty treats, and visiting The Lodge and Winter Forest. Bonus: For those littles that aren’t too strong on their skates, book a skating lesson!

Kidzmusik Holiday Party
December 13, 10:30AM – 11:15AM
Enjoy a special discounted music class with your littles at Hoboken Elks on Washington Street. This holiday-themed class is designed for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers to enjoy live music with Mr. Joe and Carmen, through instruments, props, and costumes. Caregivers are invited to move and play, too!

Nacho Muthas Holiday Popup
December 14 – 15, 12PM – 8PM
Bring the family to a fun day of eating at Nacho Muthas Holiday Popup, a fun foodie market in the Paramus Park Mall. From Sogno Coffee to Empanada Mania, these vendors have created fresh and packaged treats for you to give as gifts and enjoy all holiday season long.

Candlelight Tour and Reading of “A Christmas Carol”
December 14, 7PM – 10PM
Get your walking shoes on and your ears ready for a Christmas story told like no other. The classic, “A Christmas Carol” is told via candlelight through a walking tour of the Kingsland Manor. This enchanted evening is a holiday-themed way of stepping back in time.

METC Winter Traditions: Storytime & Craft
December 15, 11AM – 3PM
Head over to the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts for storytime and crafts. Celebrate winter with stories about early winter traditions and be sure to visit the pop-up exhibit: Winter Fun in the 19th Century. Bonus: Your littles can make their very own sled ornaments.

Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar 2018
December 15, 22, 23, 11AM – 6PM
On Sundays, Santa visits the Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar to hear all your littles’ Christmas wishes. Otherwise, mom can shop the best local artisans and vendors selling cute and cool vintage jewelry, art, home goods, and more. This event features a holiday photo booth, fireplace lounge, a special holiday menu at the Anchors Bend and Asbury Oyster Bar, live music, as well as kids art classes and holiday craft workshops. Anyone up for some wreath making?

Hoboken Jingle Bell 5K
December 15, 9AM – 12PM
Grab your antlers, red noses, and jingle bells for this annual event that brings the entire community together. Be sure to bundle up for this 5K or 1-mile fun run that’ll spread holiday cheer throughout the streets of Hoboken and finish in the beautiful Pier A Park.

Winter Bash
December 15, 2PM – 4PM
Celebrate the season with holiday characters, making crafts, and playing festive games. Win prizes from local businesses by entering your little creations into the gingerbread house contest (different categories for all ages), which will be judged by JB Bakery.

HHA Gift Giveaway
December 16, 2PM – 4PM 
The holiday season is more than making snowmen, drinking hot chocolate, and singing out our favorite holiday tunes. It’s about giving back as well! The HHA Gift Giveaway is a heartwarming experience where you and your family can volunteer to distribute gifts to the Community Room in Hoboken.

Written in the Rocks: Fossil Tales of New Jersey
Now through December 31, Tuesday to Sunday, 9AM – 4:45PM
Bring your family back in time to see the oldest fossils from the state and learn a whole lot about geology. The exhibit features ten unique fossil stories that explain dinosaur life in New Jersey. Your littles will love meeting the different kinds of dinos and their Ice Age friends including the Dryptosaurus, the world’s first known carnivorous dinosaur, and Mosasaurus Maximus, a 50-foot marine reptile discovered in South Jersey.
