Get ready to light up your nights: From littles to big, everyone will feel merry, bright and festive after a stop at one or two of these spectacular light shows. Whether you check them out on a shimmering lake, find them at your favorite amusement parks after dark, or see millions of twinkling animated displays, it’s the most wonderful and dazzling time to spend with your family this season.

Here are the best light shows in NJ this holiday season:

Magic of Lights New Jersey
Now Through January 4, Sunday-Thursday 6PM-10PM, Friday & Saturday 6PM-11PM
Everyone will be in awe as you drive through a merry mile of Christmas lights, trees and decorations that will surely put your whole crew in the holiday spirit. After, head to the holiday village, where your littles will love the merry maze, pictures with Santa, classic holiday movies, games and of course, hot cocoa.
PNC Bank Arts Center
Holmdel, NJ
Cost: $25 per car (Mon-Thurs) and $30 per car (Fri-Sun)

Turtle Back Zoo Holiday Lights Spectacular
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: November 22 – December 1, 5PM-9PM
Every Night: December 6 – December 31, 2019, 5PM-9PM
Take a winter stroll under the sparkling lights of over 50 winter and animal characters and then stop by Santa’s workshop for a photo opp (a professional photographer will be there if you don’t want to wing it yourself). While this holiday extravaganza is completely free, the zoo will be collecting donations of non-perishable food, new, unwrapped toys and gently used winter coats.

Christmas Light Show & Village
November 30 -December 8, Sat & Sun 4:30PM-11PM, Fri & Sat 4:30PM-11PM
Drive through a beautiful lights exhibit that twinkles with over 2 million dazzling displays: Your littles will be amazed by all the sparkle and shine on this mile-long course. After, take a stroll through the light tunnel, and head to the village for skating, hot cocoa and lots of festive-filled games and vendors.

Sea of Lights Indoor Holiday Lights Spectacular
December 13, 14, 20-22, 27, 28, 6PM – 9PM
Don’t want to bundle up? Check out Jenk’s this holiday season for their indoor show illuminating the aquarium. Don’t miss their winter wonderland pavilion that includes treats, crafts and pictures with Scuba Santa. Explore the Aquarium’s festivities, sample some treats in the Sweet Shop, sneak in some last-minute holiday shopping at the gift shop and play games in the arcade.

Christmas Fantasy with Lights at Storybookland
Now Through December 30 (closed December 24 & 25), 5 PM
The magic of Christmas has taken over Storybookland. Santa Claus is ready to wave his magic wand and light the park with over 1 million lights for the holiday season. Your littles will love seeing the park glow after dark, as well as be thrilled to go on rides and attractions (all open at night) during this magical time.

Holiday in the Park
Now Through January 1
Hit your favorite theme park at night to see it completely decked out in colorful lights and mingle with special guests, Mrs. Claus and the Reindeer. Step into the frosty holiday cirque spectacular by joining the show or dancing the night away at Spinnin’ Saturdays with DJ Tinsel Tunes. Finish the night with a festive treat—like Christmas-themed funnel cakes, a cup of hot chocolate, yummy cider and roasted nuts.

Historic Smithville Holiday Light Show
Now Through January 6, 5:30PM-8:30PM 
Visit Historic Smithville to hear your favorite holiday tunes synchronized to a unique light display: Over 120 Christmas trees, constructed from 50,000+ Christmas lights, magically float atop Lake Meone in the center of the village. When the sky is dark, an orchestrated show of lights dances across the water to Christmas music. The show can be seen from either side of the village as well as from the bridge.

The Christmas Light Show
December 7th, 6:30PM – 8:30PM, December 14th, 6:30PM -8:30PM, December 15th, 5:45PM -7:30PM
This popular holiday tradition returns this Christmas season with a new location and revamped show that features more lights than ever before set to holiday music. While this spectacular showcase of lights is free to the public, a suggested donation of $25 will benefit RallyCap Sports, a charity that sponsors sports programs and builds facilities for children with disabilities.

Light Show on the Lake
Now Through December 23, Sunday – Thursday 5PM–8PM, Friday & Saturday 5PM– 9PM 
Gather ’round the fire pits at Johnson’s Corner Farm’s Discovery Barnyard to roast marshmallows and watch the lake light up in this breathtaking display. Be sure to hop on the Christmas “Light Show” Hayride to see more of the farm lit up for the holidays.
