Snow Tubing in NJ: Where To Slide This Winter

If skiing isn’t quite your family’s thing, or you just want to go sledding, snow tubing in NJ is an exhilarating outdoor activity that the whole family can get in on. It’s a thrilling way to spend a few hours, thanks to ski resorts that pump in snow for easy slides down wide lanes; there are conveyor belts to help you get back up a hill fast; and you sit on comfy inner tubes for cushy rides (no plastic discs here). Plus, it doesn’t require a skill set like skiing, and parents can hop in to ride with littles. Read on to find a hill near you to go snow tubing in NJ, and for where to ski or snowboard, check out our guide to skiing around NJ. (featured photo credit: Camelback Resort)

Big Snow at American Dream
If you want to feel like you are snow tubing in a snow globe, this indoor ski and snowboard resort is the only one of its kind in North America, and the best part is that it’s winter 365 days a year. It’s 28 degrees every day at Big Snow, so make sure to bundle up and then get ready to ride down the mountain on a snow tube. Hop on the magic carpet to get back up and do it all over again with Big Snow’s Play & Tubing package.

Campgaw Mountain
At this Bergen County mountain for snow tubing in NJ, adults, bigs, and littles can coast down the lanes, which vary with different roller levels and pitches. Sessions are 1-2 hours, and purchasing them online in advance is recommended since they sell out quickly (you can buy tickets up to 14 days in advance).

Mountain Creek
This resort is perfect for snow tubing in NJ, as it spans over 5 acres and is one of the largest in the area. While the minimum height requirement is between 36″ and 42″ with an adult, older kids (and you) can partake in the adrenaline-fueled rides with a magic carpet that takes you up the hill. And since there are no on-site ticket sales, you’ll need to make a reservation and buy in advance.

Blue Mountain Resort
Dubbed the Largest Snow Tubing Park in the US, and rightly so—with up to 56 lanes, a conveyor, and snow tubing runs over 1000 ft long, you’ll zip down the hills more than you’ll be in line for the lifts. Kids need to be 36″ tall to ride; if you want to ride with them, there are double tubes. But if hanging back is more speed, cozy up to a firepit with a food truck, bar, and cafe service, and a stellar view of the tubing hills. Older kids will want to slide down during the Sonic Snow Tubing Experience after 5 PM, when the park transforms into a laser light-and-music show as the sun goes down.

Camelback Resort
This vast park has over 40 lanes to slide down, with daytime slides and Galactic Night Tubing after dark when the trails get a glow up. Littles can’t go solo but can ride in a double tube or get hooked up to your tube with a chain. And if you need to fuel up apres-sliding, this full-service resort has many options, including sit-down restaurants, a cafe, and a pizza spot.
193 Resort Drive, Tannersville, PA 18372

Jack Frost Big Boulder
Take a trip to Big Boulder for a snow tube run on their Bubly Tube Park—a recent addition to the resort. Get ready to ride on their two 600-foot conveyor carpets to get up to the top and then ride down on the snow tube track. Riders must be at least 4 years old and at least 42 inches tall.
357 Big Boulder Drive, Lake Harmony, PA 18624

Shawnee Mountain
Shawnee Mountain Tubing Park offers day and night tubing and two surface lifts to whisk you to the top. Ride by yourself or take a tandem tube with the kids (they must be at least 4 years old to ride). Snow tubing tickets are only sold online and tend to sell out days in advance, so plan accordingly.
401 Hollow Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301

Whitetail Mountain Resort
Drive across the border for a two-hour session of snow tubing fun. There are multiple lanes for littles to bigs (you must be 42 inches tall to ride the larger run), and challenge your family to a side-by-side race down the hill. Post-slide, sip a cup of cocoa as you warm up by the fire pits outside. Tickets are sold online only and in advance.

Hunter Mountain
“No skills” are needed to snow tube down 1,000 feet of fluffy snow at Hunter Mountain. Glide down a hill and take “the Magic Carpet” back up to the top in standard-size or double-size tubes. Ticket sales open 30 minutes before the snow tubing park opens, and they close 30 minutes before the park closes.
64 Klein Avenue, Hunter, NY 12442

Mount Peter
Go fast at this family mountain resort with something for all ages. Big kids can whiz down 600-foot lanes, and littles will love spending time in the Little Tikes Tubing area (adult supervision required), a smaller, kid-sized hill, especially for them. Snow tubing session reservations are encouraged.
