Whether you want to take the kids on a prehistoric trip back in time, or show them what life was like on America’s most decorated battleship – you can visit some of the amazing museums around the Garden State without dropping a dime. All you need to make these adventures happen is your trusty library card. It’s all thanks to this #NJMOM Hack – did you know museums provide free admission tickets to local libraries that will in turn loan them to you?
Here’s how it works: Most passes are loaned for three days, including the day the pass is to be picked up. A refundable cash deposit is sometimes required, but is returned when the pass is brought back to the library on time. Not a valid library cardholder? No worries! Just head down to your local branch and they can hook you up with one.
You’ll gain access to the best museums in the tri-state area. We’re talking some pretty cool places like the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Aviation Hall of Fame, the Yogi Berra Museum and many more. Bonus: some of these passes include activities and other fun things to do.
