They’ve put in a bunch of safety measures and new guidelines for staff and clients so that everyone feels comfortable and safe during their visit. If you’re jumping up for joy right now, this will make you even more excited—they’re offering reduced general admission (just $30 — say whaaat?) and opening specials. Read on for everything you need to know before you go and get ready to book that appointment stat because now’s the perfect time to take a mini-escape to this ah-mazing spa.

About Island Spa and Sauna
If you haven’t been, Island Spa and Sauna is a 30,000 square foot modernized Korean day spa that offers a plethora of amenities and services akin to traditional spas in South Korea. They offer dry saunas made of earthy materials (clay, rock salt, charcoal, and more), which tout unique health benefits. Encapsulated inside, you will discover a world of extraordinary spa services ranging from massages to traditional Korean body scrubs to facials, just to name a few. So what’s changing? Here’s the scoop:
From the moment you book your appointment, you can expect to see lots of safety changes happening at Island Spa and Sauna. Upon reopening, they will be operating at about 25% capacity, and all staff will be required to wear proper PPE and will undergo regular temperature checks during shift changes. For spa-goers, masks are mandatory throughout the spa (except in the bathing areas and saunas), and at check-in, you’ll get a temperature check and a symptom questionnaire to fill out. Also, they will scan your ID to keep in their system for contact tracing.
As for changes within the building, there are new sanitizing stations, and they’ve installed plastic barriers at every desk where there is guest interaction. They’ve also added additional anti-viral air purifiers, remodeled parts within the tub areas, upgraded the mist sauna in the bathing area to a true steam sauna, and increased disinfection and cleaning procedures. While at the spa, guests are required to practice 6 feet social distancing and will notice there will be limits on how many people can be in the common spaces (saunas there are closed for now). And perhaps the biggest change is that Island Spa‘s outdoor space has been transformed into a calm and relaxing outdoor dining area, with soft turf underfoot, so you don’t have to put on shoes to go out there. With new menu items like poke and other snackable meals, you can expect to have a healthy and delicious experience dining outside.
Yet with all the new safety measures, the services that Island Spa is known for—massages, body scrubs, VIP treatments, and skincare—haven’t changed. And to make your appointment run even smoother, Island Spa is implementing a new feature where you fill out their intake and medical history form online at the time you book an appointment.
