Tucked away in Hamilton Square, NJ, you’ll find a garden oasis with blooms from around the world—literally. Sayen House & Gardens is home to vibrant plant collections from China, Japan, and England that still thrive today, thanks to the vision of world traveler and gardener Frederick Sayen. Back in the early 1900s, he purchased a 30-acre plot, built a charming bungalow-style home, and began planting what would become a lush botanical haven. Today, you’ll find more than 1,000 azaleas, nearly 500 rhododendrons, and over 250,000 flowering bulbs in the spring alone. It’s no surprise this spot is a favorite for engagement shoots, wedding ceremonies, and weekend strolls across its scenic footbridges. Sayen House & Gardens easily earned a place on our list of the Best Garden and Nature Centers in New Jersey, and once you visit, you’ll see why. It’s no wonder Sayen Gardens made it into our Best Garden and Nature Centers in the state. (feature photo credit: istock/Wirestock)
