Only five more weekends until spring is officially here! In the meantime, there is still plenty of winter fun to be had throughout our great state of New Jersey. Head to Laurita Winery this weekend to enjoy some award-winning Ice Sculptures or get out and enjoy some of the animals of the Cape May County Zoo.

1) Story Time at All Fired Up
Saturday February 21st 10:00am
Enjoy a relaxing morning listening to “Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Curious George”, followed by some paint your own pottery fun at All Fired Up!  After finding out if George’s lucky clover comes through to him, turn your child’s hand or foot prints into a shamrock on a coupe salad plate.  The session lasts about one hour and you are welcome to stay to paint a second piece after story time for a reduced sitting fee.

2) Michael’s Kids Club – Make a Tissue Paper Frame

Saturday February 21st
More than ten arenas throughout New Jersey will be opening their rinks on Saturday as part of the Hockey Weekend Across America program.  The program is for children ages four to nine to come try youth hockey. No prior experience or knowledge is necessary.

4) Art for Families: Degas’ Dancers
Saturday February 21st 10:00am-1:00pm
Join the Princeton University Art Museum’s Saturday morning Art for Families to immerse yourself in color and movement, exploring the art of Edgar Degas.  The morning includes an engaging gallery activity, followed by a related art project.  All ages are welcome.

5) If You Give a Moose a Muffin

6) Kids Week at the Intrepid

8) Schoolhouse Rock Live!
Saturday February 21st 2:00pm
The classic Emmy award-winning Saturday morning cartoon series is making a comeback as a stage show around the country.  Reminiscent with your children over songs like “Unpack Your Adjectives”, “Conjunction Junction” and “Do The Circulations” and introduce them to history, grammar, math, science and politics.  The show runs for one hour and is recommended for ages 6 and up.

9) The Laurita Ice Sculpture Festival
Saturday February 21st & Sunday February 22nd 11:00am-7:00pm
The beautiful Laurita Winery is hosting their family-friendly winter event this weekend for all ages!  The winery is transforming into a vineyard ski lodge for the weekend and included in the day are beautiful ice sculptures displays, classic winter activities, entertainment, food and the winery’s award-winning wines for mom and dad.  Be sure to stay for the fireworks at 7:00pm.

10) Dino Day

11) Celebrate George Washington’s Birthday

Celebrate George Washington’s 283rd birthday at the Washington Crossing Historic Park on Sunday.  Children’s activities will be held throughout the day in the visitor center and park buildings.  Children are encouraged to bring homemade birthday cards to present to General Washington.  Be sure not to miss singing Happy Birthday to George and enjoy some cake that he will cut with his sword at 1:00pm.
