Get ready—it’s time for strawberry picking in NJ, and while the 2024 season is short for picking (mid-May through June), it’s chock full of family fun. Besides picking fresh strawberries off the vine, many farms have festivals and lots of kid-friendly activities, making for a whole day outing. Keep in mind that because it’s hard to pinpoint the exact date strawberries are ripe for the picking (and cold weather snaps don’t help), you should call or check the farm’s website before making a plan. Scroll down for the best farms and fields for strawberry picking in NJ, and if you are feeling hungry, check out Farmers’ Markets in NJ, too. (feature photo credit: istock/jarih)
