Fall in New Jersey means apple picking, pumpkin picking, and heading to a fun, family-friendly NJ farm—a combo of the first two with the addition of animals, hay, or tractor rides, and perhaps a wine tasting if you’re lucky. And with many open for the season, it’s a day you’ll want to spend in the crisp autumn weather bundled up in plaid with your littles picking, petting the animals, and even watching farm tractors on the fields. Abma’s Farm: Market, Greenhouse, and Petting Zoo
Abma’s Farm requires purchasing tickets in advance for fun fall activities like hayrides, pumpkin picking, and visiting the barnyard zoo. This NJ farm makes everything from scratch, and its bounty is raised with love, picked, and cooked daily. Stop by the market for fresh produce and baked goods or in the greenhouse for a new plant. Alstede Farms
Alstede Farms is one of our favorites because it truly has it all—visit this New Jersey farm market, pick your own apples, pumpkins, raspberries, sunflowers, peaches, corn, and more. There are three mazes for you and the fam to play, including the evergreen, sunflower, and corn maze. Brookhollow’s Barnyard
At Brookhollow’s Barnyard, step outside the box and walk through the Farm. Visit the petting zoo, the pumpkin patch, and also enjoy tractor rides and the cow train.

Ort Farms
Ort Farms offers lots of ways for your family to have fun and snap those fall insta-moments. Take a stroll through this gorgeous sunflower farm in New Jersey and pick sunflowers, and then head to the vegetable picking areas too. Weekday activities include hayrides to the pumpkin patch, the corn maze, and the friendly farm animal viewing area during the fall festival. On the weekends, enjoy train rides, an apple cannon, and monster truck rides.

It may be known for strawberries in the spring, but this Farm has pumpkins in the fall. Take a hayride to pick from various pumpkins like Sugar, Jack O’Lantern, White Lumina, Mini, and Gourds. After you’re done, you can also pick up fresh local apples, corn, and mums and enjoy local cider.

Funny Farm Rescue & Animal Sanctuary
The Funny Farm Rescue & Animal Sanctuary has created a home for over 550 animals that have been unwanted, sick, injured, and abused since 2000. The Farm opens its doors so that you can visit these animals and bring smiles to their faces – and yours too. Your kids can see cats, dogs, horses, donkeys, ducks, pigs, goats, etc.

Hill Creek Farms

Duke Farms
You’ll spend a peaceful afternoon at Duke Farms, home to over 1,000 acres of gorgeous land, scenic routes, and two barns. Walk or bike through the paths and stop by the Orchid Range for both tropical and subtropical species.
