Grab your pretzels, beer, lederhosen, and dirndls— it’s time for Oktoberfest in NJ. With many festivals back on, there’s plenty of places to get into a celebratory mood.  And while some events may look a little different this year, there are activities and tons of food (and drinks) to be enjoyed. Your whole family can show off your best chicken dance, sample sausages and for the 21+ crowd, sip a lager in the Biergarten. Oktoberfest at Morey’s Piers
September 17-19, 24-26, October 1-3 and 8-10
Get ready for four consecutive weekends of German-themed goodness with “Oktober das Oktopus,” live entertainment, kids “Rootbier Garten” activity area, and more at the lively Oktoberfest on Morey’s Piers. On September 17 at 5:45 pm, the festivities kick-off with a ceremonial keg tapping of Warsteiner beer and the Morey family clad in lederhosen—prost!

Medford Oktoberfest and Music Festival
September 18
German food, live music, food trucks, kids’ activities, and more. All ages can test their skills in the Bavarian stein holding contest.

Live German music and a German Polka Band will perform during Oktoberfest. And you can’t miss the German dinner with Sauerbraten, Bier Cheddar Soup, and Brotpudding.

8th Annual Somerville Oktoberfest
September 25
Get ready to try traditional Oktoberfest brews, plenty of food from local restaurants, and live music throughout the day. There will be an annual Stein Holding Contest, a live Brews & Brushes painting experience, and a custom beer puppeteer setup. Look out for pumpkin and face painting for the kiddos.

Cape May Oktoberfest
September 25
Head to exit 0 for a special celebration in historic Cape May. You’ll be in awe of the authentic feel (like you’re really in Munich) when downtown becomes a German promenade with food, crafters, music, and more. The rain date will be September 26.

37th Annual Mountain Creek Oktoberfest
September 25 and 26
The kids can enjoy the sky rides, lawn games, petting zoo, activity ring, face painting, balloon animals, and musical entertainment. There will be food, drinks, and live entertainment for the adults too.

Zeppelin Hall Oktoberfest
September 25 – October 24
During this almost-a-full-month-long celebration, they’re serving Oktoberfest beer, Bavarian dishes, and pretzels – with kid-friendly options like burgers and mac and cheese too. On weekdays, they have “Happy Hour” from 4PM to 7PM. And on weekends, your whole family can relax and enjoy the live German bands that play from 3PM to 7PM (on both days) on stage.

2nd Annual Kindle Oktoberfest

Grab a beer from local breweries on hand at this craft, food, and drink festival that gives back to Cape May County Chamber Education Fund. You can peruse the socially distant vendor tents with jewelry, soaps, and handmade crafts, while the rest of the fam feasts on shrimp, donuts, and soft pretzels—all while listening to the sounds of two live bands playing throughout the day.
