School’s Out, 11 President’s Day Camps in New Jersey

Every third Monday in February, your little ones cheer over a three-day holiday weekend, while you’re likely not as fortunate to get off from work. President’s Day is every working parent’s struggle and begs the question – what to do with your child? To make your life a little easier, NJMOM found 11 half- or full-day camps in New Jersey when you need to cover the Monday holiday or that weekend. Whether your child is into athletics, art, or nature, we’ve got something for every parent (and child) who likes to give meaning to days off from school. Here’s to celebrating Honest Abe and George the right way!

Here are 11 president’s day camps around New Jersey:

Turtleback Zoo’s Mini Camp: Life in the Zoo
9AM – 4PM
This full day dropoff program is a chance for your littles to learn about the art and science of animal care, create enrichment items, and learn about conservation at the Turtleback Zoo as well as global stewardship.

Winter Break Camp Days at Fernbrook Farms
8:30AM – 4PM
There’s so much to do at the farm during the winter time! During these winter camp days, activities can include but are no limited to sledding, building snow forts, tracking animals in the snow, making winter bird feeders, learning survival skills, warming up by the fire, tapping sugar maple trees for syrup, playing outdoor games, and visiting the farm animals. Extended care is available as well.

President’s Day Mini Culinary Camp
9AM – 12PM
Great Food Truck Cuisine’ Jr. Chef’s and parents will delight in this one day mini camp for Presidents Day, where your littles will explore a fun day of cooking and go head to head with other competitors. Lunch and snacks will be provided, space is limited so act fast.

Morning Camp at The Gagasphere
9:30AM – 12PM
The Gagasphere is a fun play zone for your littles to play tons of games and activities, as well as Gaga, a high energy game that is played in a “pit” by rolling and hitting a ball back and forth. At this morning camp, the crew starts with Gaga and then other games like obstacle courses and tournaments for ages 6-12.

Calling All Space Explorers!
9AM – 3:30PM
This is the perfect all-day workshop for your little space explorers, moon lovers, and future astronauts. Time to learn about the solar system and how scientists observe and explore space and what’s around us. There will be plenty of demonstrations needing participants – a hands-on way to learn!

President’s Day Camp at My Gym Jersey City
9AM – 4PM
Get moving this President’s Day with My Gym Jersey City. Sign up your kids for morning or afternoon session, or both! Dance class, Martial Arts class, and a craft make up the morning itinerary, while afternoon is all about energizing fitness games, gymnastics, relay races, and crafts. Your kids are sure to be tuckered out after this day camp – we’re getting tired just writing about it! Lunch and story time is carved out between sessions; it’s BYOL (bring your own lunch), but a healthy snack will be provided during each session. Kids between 2 and a half and 13 years old can attend the camp.

ZONED Sports Academy President’s Day Mini Clinics
2PM – 5PM
Whether your child just wants to learn about baseball or wants to discover other sports like football and kickball, this is the place for them to be on President’s Day. Kids ages 7 to 12 will learn everything they need to know in a variety of sports. From 2PM to 3PM, there’s a Fielding Mini Clinic, from 3PM to 4PM, the Hitting Mini Clinic, and from 4PM to 5PM, the Pitching Mini Clinic. An optional lunch is provided: pizza, chips, and a drink.

President’s Day Riding Camp
9AM – 3PM
Equestrians will jump for joy – for one day, they get to spend the day riding horses at Baymar Farms. Perfect for ages 7 through 16, and beginner riders to advanced riders, all are welcome. Before and aftercare available for working parents. Space is limited, call 732-591-9600 to reserve a spot.

Day Camp at The Little Gym

Day camp at The Little Gym gives your littles a chance to attend a summer camp, indoors in the wintertime. The camps combine fun physical activity, games, as well as arts and crafts.

Arts Camp at Monroe Street Movement Space

This is a New Jersey state licensed camp for your littles to learn and play and grow. This program combines creative movement, dance, theater, music, writing, storytelling, drawing, painting, and sculpture!

Youth Hockey President’s Day Power Hours
February 16, 10:15AM – 11:30AM, February 17, 1:15PM – 2:30PM
Grouped by age and skill level, kids participating in this camp will learn about increasing speed, edge control, and transitional skating. This style of training was created to elevate players to the next level of competitive hockey. Only 30 skaters are allowed in each of the two sessions, so don’t wait to sign-up on their website.
