Sure, a construction-themed amusement park sounds cool, but until you see Diggerland USA in West Berlin for yourself, you will not believe your eyes. As you watch your kids confidently drive a real tractor, hear their squeals as they scoop up dirt with a mini-digger, or climb onto and ride a full-size excavator, you realize Diggerland USA is something else. With this gem in South Jersey, 20 miles from Philadelphia (West Berlin, to be exact), your family can experience an unforgettable day together filled with fun, thrills, and even a little education. The #NJMOM Squad had a chance to experience Diggerland, and it’s safe to say everyone—from the littles to mom and dad—had a blast. Diggerfest Fall Festival is back and bigger than before
Come September, Diggerland transforms into a fall wonderland full of foliage, forklifts, and nonstop fun, with 40+ rides and attractions to enjoy during the Diggerfest Fall Festival. You won’t want to miss the pipe roll, fun maze, live music, and yummy fall food treats. Kids will love to visit the goats, chickens, and more at the petting zoo, try the autumn hay maze, climb aboard a hayride, decorate pumpkins, and play seasonal games (hi-striker, anyone?). And this year, the Diggerfest area is its biggest celebration yet, with even more activities to enjoy, like balloon animals, firetruck rides, and a show headlined by Circus Stella on September 30, October 1, 7, and 8. Handyman Hal will say hi to kids on September 30, and wear your favorite cartoon character shirt on October 14, 21, and 28 for a Dancing Robot meet and greet. Finally, don’t miss Santa on site for ornament decorating at the end of November.

The fall festival frequently features the Parade of Machines, where Diggerland USA mascots, fire trucks, tractors, and more are displayed. When you’re ready for a break, try some tasty fall treats and sit by the bonfire (you can purchase s’mores). The new Lumberjack Claw lets children and families operate a real log loader with a huge arcade claw, and the Hook & Ladder seasonal emergency vehicle display is a great place to take photos. The Diggerfest Fall Festival starts on weekends, September 23-November 26, with endless fall-themed activities included in admission. Diggerland USA Highlights
Diggerland is the only construction theme park in the US, which means you know you’ll be in for a ton of one-of-a-kind experiences you can’t do anywhere else. There is so much to take in for little ones—from the mini-diggers where they can dig for treasures to the skid steers and tractors they get to steer themselves—it’s all totally hands-on and super fun. Our kids loved taking the dumper trucks around the track and hopping on the battle trucks for a little off-road adventure. The Dig-A-Round was a huge favorite—I mean, what kid wouldn’t love a merry-go-round where you ride in the scoop of an excavator?
For the bigger kids (and adults), there are rides that up the thrill factor. Head up into the Sky Shuttle—a telehandler that pushes you 50 feet into the air, or conquer that adrenaline rush on the Spin Dizzy—which lifts and spins you as you sit in an excavator bucket and hold on. For a bird’s eye view of the whole park, the Soaring Eagle zip line takes you on a 700-foot ride that shows you all of Diggerland USA (and then some). And we can’t forget Diggerland XL—a chance for adults to operate the full power of heavy machinery—excavators, loaders, and dozers, with guided instruction from a professional. And while the big machinery is the star attraction, it’s the little touches throughout the park add to the family fun. From a ropes course and bright, fun playground to an arcade and other on-theme games, there are surprises at every turn to wow your whole crew.

Diggerland USA Waterpark, “The Water Main”
With a vast new wave pool and attractions, Diggerland’s 2-acre water park, The Water Main, is the place to go when summer begins. Kids will love jumping around the construction-themed splash pads, water slides, aqua balls, and more, and it’s all included in general admission. Claw Hammer Cove’s wave pool mimics a real ocean with zero entry and 4-foot waves. There are challenges within it, including the Rip Rap Run obstacle course that lets you walk on water and the exciting Carpool Lane—a crossing course for traversing the 24-foot-long pool using floating themed pads and the overhead horizontal handholds grid. In mid-course, get ready for a flood of rushing water from the overhanging water cranes. And you won’t have to stay wet—there are lockers to stash your stuff, and you can even rent a personal cabana for the day full of lounge chairs, a ceiling fan, a refrigerator, and more. Enjoy a comfy shaded area for eating and a cafe with food options to fuel you for the day, too.

Diggerland USA—What To Know Before You Go
One of the best things about Diggerland is that there is truly something for every age. Everyone in our group had a blast, from the toddler set to the grown-ups, and found rides and attractions inside the park catering to their age group. This makes it an especially great outing with multiple kids or families of different ages.
Parking is free (another win), and the park has several different food options. However, guests can’t bring in outside food or beverages. The Diggerfest Fall Festival starts on weekends, September 23-November 26, with fall-themed activities included in admission. Save 20% off with this NJMom exclusive $39.95 (reg. $49.95 at the gate) online-only tickets here. Most rides are included with the cost of admission, except the Diggerland XL experiences and The Soaring Eagle Zip Line, which have additional charges.
If your kids love construction equipment (what kid doesn’t?), or even if you’re looking for something fun and unique to do as a family, Diggerland is a must to put on your NJMOM bucket list.
