Being first time visitors to Topsail Beach, NC, we highly recommend this summer beach rental for a large family getaway. Summers for us, for as long as I can remember, have been enjoyed at our family’s beach house in Ortley Beach, NJ. This year was a little different than summers past, as our house was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy last year. This getaway to Topsail Beach, NC was exactly what my family needed to rekindle our beach spirits and reconnect with what’s most important to us (keep reading to find out what that is!).

This getaway was SO nice and relaxing and tranquil and awesome.

We rented a 4 bedroom, 4 bath home on the bay side with a dock, a kayak, 2 decks, brand new everything, an elevator (!!) and the beach right across the street. Topsail Beach has one road that gets you in and out of the area making it extremely secluded. On one side of the street is a house with the bay behind it and the other side of the street has a house with the ocean in front it.

We had 2 children with us under the age of six, and they absolutely loved fishing and crabbing off of the dock, rowing around in the kayak, playing in the ocean from sun up til sun down and taking walks (errr.. runs) up and down the beach. The neighbors were extremely friendly and offered the use of their swimming pool ‘anytime you want.’

The vacation re-connected my family in such a special way. Taking the time to get away from the everyday hustle helped reminded us all what’s really important in life; family.

Needless to say, this was the most tranquil week I’ve had in a while.
