An added bonus? All kids and military families get into the event free of charge (military families even receive complimentary food, bev and front row seats!), and there’s lots of family-friendly activities for everyone to enjoy. Kids and Military get in FREE at one of New Jersey’s most prestigious golf courses
The PGA Tour is the perfect excuse for mamas and their littles to spend a fun day at one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the entire state. Liberty National Golf Club boasts some of the best views we have, with sights like the Statue of Liberty, the sparkling Manhattan skyline and the Verrazano Bridge. And even though it may be out of your budget to golf there regularly, the PGA Tour is making a huge exception. Don’t believe us? Kids aged 18 and under get in free with a ticketed adult all week, and there’s no limit to how many kids can accompany just one adult. Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard Members, Military Retirees and Veterans will receive complimentary admission to the event as well. In addition, military members, veterans and their families are invited to enjoy complimentary food, beverages and front row seats inside the Patriots’ Outpost venue open Weds – Sun.
Affordable family fun at The Northern Trust
As if getting an unlimited number of kids in for free isn’t enough, the Northern Trust event has tons of affordable events and pit stops planned for families to check out. After loading up on some flags and golf balls to carry throughout the day at the PGA Tour Fan Shop near the main entrance, you can stop and grab some breakfast at Pete’s Diner on No. 17—which also happens to have killer skyline views and golf-themed games to keep the kids busy. The Driving Range at Liberty National Golf Course should be the next place you visit, since kids will be able to see their favorite golf pros up close and personal—and possibly snag some autographs at the designated Kids Autograph Zone, too.
View (and meet?) the world’s best players up close and personal
The Kids Viewing Galleries at No. 16 and No. 17 will allow moms, dads and their kiddos to be just steps away from the world’s best gold players. Just make sure you’re on the lookout for golf balls and gloves that the players give away to the lucky children who come to watch them play. The First Round Fan Village on No. 13 is a must-do as well—you can let your children take a swing or two themselves at the expos here, then selfie with the Statue of Liberty at No. 14 before calling it a day.
What to know before you go to The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club
Before heading out to the Northern Trust event of the PGA tour, you can save even more money by packing your own lunch and snacks, so long as it’s wrapped in clear plastic wrap and brought in clear, resealable plastic bags (no larger than one gallon). Kids and families can also opt to buy lunch at the golf club, at tasty places like Pete’s Diner, Pizza Vita, Luke’s Lobster, Torico Ice Cream and Shake Shack. For mamas who are nursing, head over to the family care suites on No. 12 and 17 to take care of you and your littles. Kids should bring a few Sharpie markers and memorabilia to get autographed by their fave players. As mentioned, kids aged 18 and under get in for free so long as they’re with one ticketed adult. Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard Members and Military Retirees will receive complimentary admission to the event as well.
General admission for an adult ranges from $40 – $75.
