The Trail of Magic
Memory Maker’s Trail of Magic Returns to Lambertville October 1–31
Beloved Halloween art returns throughout town, with a new free audio tour for visitors
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — This October, Lambertville will once again be transformed by the whimsical, wonderfully strange world of artist Dolores Dragan as Memory Maker’s Trail of Magic returns October 1–31, 2026.
Presented by the Lambertville Creative Arts Fund (LCAF), the month-long event brings Dolores’s iconic Halloween characters—known affectionately as the Dragans—to windows and businesses throughout Lambertville, creating a walkable trail of art, imagination and discovery.
New this year, visitors can experience the Trail through a free audio tour, making it even easier to explore the installations while discovering the businesses and locations that bring the event to life.
The Trail of Magic grew out of a Lambertville tradition created by Dolores over decades. Her fantastical figures, expressive faces and unmistakable sense of humor became a beloved part of Halloween in the city. Today, LCAF works to preserve that legacy while finding new ways for the community and visitors to experience her art.
Last year’s inaugural Trail of Magic drew thousands of visitors to Lambertville, generated significant media attention and brought increased foot traffic to participating businesses.
“The Trail is about more than Halloween,” said Lisa Shippy-Woods, CEO of the Lambertville Creative Arts Fund. “It’s about wandering through town, discovering something unexpected in a window, and experiencing Lambertville at its most creative. The new audio tour gives people another way to follow the trail and become part of the story.”
The Memory Maker’s Trail of Magic is free and open to the public throughout October. Visitors are encouraged to make a day—or a weekend—of it, exploring the displays while enjoying Lambertville’s shops, restaurants, galleries and historic streets.
