Mamas, our special day is almost here. While we know our families appreciate us all year long, for Mother’s Day, we certainly don’t mind a little pampering. And, we all want to wow our own #NJMOMs with a special treat to show us how much they mean to us. From springtime sips at one of the state’s Mother’s Day wine trails, to saying ahhhh at Island Spa & Sauna, to a high tea that will have you feeling like one of the royals, we’re looking beyond brunch to bring you some unique experiences to spend a special day with your littles, your mama, or both.
Relax and rejuvenate at Island Spa & Sauna
We can’t think of a better way to spend Mother’s Day (or any day!) than to relax and find some serious zen at Island Spa and Sauna, especially with all of the special touches they have planned for this holiday – it will be an immersive Mother’s Day experience. First, take advantage of their 10% off gift card sale for a special treat for mama. From May 6th to May 9th, check out the photo station and hand-written letters for mom. Then, on Mother’s Day, enjoy a flower bouquet bar and kombucha giveaway. And, of course, sample everything that this 30,000 square foot day spa offers to revitalize and rejuvenate. From foot and body massages to Korean body scrubs, facials, and unique dry saunas made from clay, rock salt, and charcoal – it’s a perfect recipe for relaxation. After you unwind, you can enjoy delicious Korean food at the cafe or make a stop at the juice bar. Children 10 and under are welcome with an adult, so this is a great mommy & me day with an older child, or with your own mom. You can check out our experience at the spa here. Sip and savor at the Mother’s Day Wine Trail Weekend at Hawk Haven Winery
Cheers to you, mamas! Treat yourself or your mom to complimentary wine tastings as you celebrate the weekend at Hawk Haven Winery on the Mother’s Day Wine Trail. Order a gourmet cheese plate to pair with your favorite wines, relax on the patio, and take in gorgeous views of the vineyard from 11AM to 6PM all weekend. There are timed tours of the winery all weekend too, and on Sunday, the winery’s hosting a Vineyard Mother’s Day brunch with live music. If you can’t make it to Rio Grande, there are wine trail weekends happening in several locations around the Garden State for Mother’s Day, including White Horse Winery and Laurita Winery. Have a proper tea at one of our favorite places to sip and scone
Fancy a cup of delicious tea or a scrumptious scone? Maybe you like an excuse to get dressed up and put on a fabulous fascinator (watch out, Kate Middleton). Mother’s Day feels like the perfect day for a proper high tea and several spots are hosting special events just for moms. We recommend High SocieTea House in Wayne, where they’ve created special meals for each seating (10AM, 12:30PM, 3PM) and are giving little gifts for all the moms to take home. This is an event crafted for a Queen, and on this day, that’s you mama.
Enjoy ruby chocolate and rose at Four JG’s Orchards & Vineyards
Nothing says #treatyoself like a little wine and chocolate. And have you seen ruby chocolate? Not only is it delicious, but it’s made from the ruby cocoa bean, which makes it a pretty pink. At Four JG’s Orchards & Vineyards Ruby Chocolate and Rose pairing, they’re giving you a chance to pair the two perfect pink treats – and that’s just one of dozens of chocolate and wine pairings they’re offering for Mother’s Day weekend. You can enjoy and relax at the vineyards Saturday and Sunday, May 11th and 12th, from 12PM to 5PM.
