Spring is in the air which means many free festivals and spring-themed events to kick off the new season. Embrace the warm weather and engage in a game of soccer for Soccer Day at Acres Park, observe the bee hives with an expert at Spring Beekeeping with Howell Living History Farm, witness hundreds upon hundreds of kites flying through the air at the Kite Festival in Long Branch, or laugh the day away at Ocean City’s Comedy Parade.

1. Soccer Day at Acres Park
April 2nd, 2016 | 10:00 AM
Children ranging from the ages 2 – 8 years of age are invited to Soccer Day in Eatontown— an event that gets kids outside for the day and gives them a good workout. With a day of free classes, a chance to meet some of the best coaches in New Jersey, and the opportunity to see what a Soccer Shots session is like, children will fall in-love with the game of soccer.

2. Spring Beekeeping

Observe as the bee expert, Mr. Hughes, cleans the hives and gives them a health check to make sure that they are healthy enough for a new season of honey.

3. Saturday Craft at A.C. Moore

4. Honey Festival

8. Fly Kites at the Pier

Long Branch is kicking off the summer season with their annual kite flying festival featuring some of the most beautiful kites from all across the east coast. Additionally, there will be a kids candy drop and chances to win prizes and awards in a kite running competition.

9. Comedy Parade in Ocean City

11. Healthy Kids Day

Amanda is a student at William Paterson University majoring in English with a concentration in Writing, and a Psychology minor on the side.
