Start March off right by attending some free events. Listen to Irish folk music at Cape May Convention Hall’s Free Family Concert starring the artists of the Quietman, check out the local vendors at South Seaville’s Chili Cook Off and Vendor Fair, or build a wooden toy wagon with home depot.

1. Free Family Concert
Saturday, March 5th, 2016 | 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Who can say no to family-friendly, free music? Head on over to Cape May Convention Hall and celebrate all things Irish from music performed by artists of the Quietman to traditional food of Ireland. The band will be performing Celtic rock and folk songs for your entertainment.

2. Chili Cook Off and Vendor Fair
Saturday, March 5th, 2016 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Vendors, delicious food, and endless crafts for the kids—all of this will be happening at the chili cook off and vendor fair. There might even be a chance to enter your own chili for the cook off and an opportunity to try some of the spicy chili.

3. Belmar St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Every year, Belmar holds one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade’s in New Jersey since its start in 1974. At the 34th Annual Lake Como St. Patrick’s Day Parade, crowds of green and white will fill the streets along with the melody of the bagpipes.

4. Milk and Cookies at the State Theater
March 5th, 2016 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Live music, storytelling, puppetry, and of course, milk and cookies! Bring your children to the Milk and Cookies series for children at the State Theater for a wonderful performance by many kid-friendly artists that engage children in dancing and singing.

5. Build a Toy Wagon
Saturday, March 5th, 2016 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Receive a pin for building a toy wagon with Home Depot this weekend! In this hands-on workshop, children are guided through creating a moving, functioning toy wagon. When the wagon is complete, they will receive a certificate of achievement.
