Spring is here (yippee), and to celebrate, there are a bunch of fun spring things to do to get the whole family excited. Experience the breath-taking beauty of 5,000 daffodils and a parade at Allentown’s 2nd Annual Daffodil Days in Allentown, watch trucks roll by at the 3rd Annual Truck Parade in Cranford, or grab a basket and hunt for the thousands of eggs scattered around the Count Basie Fields at The Great Red Bank Egg Hunt in Red Bank. Easter Bunny Train Ride Kid Friendly TTD NJ Mom

The Easter Bunny Train Ride & Easter Egg Hunt

All aboard—take a trip on the Easter Bunny Train Ride and visit with Mr. Bunny on the train. Your ride will wind along the scenic Delaware River, leaving from the Historic District of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, to Carpentersville, home of the historic Lime Kilns—the oldest and largest left in existence in New Jersey, dating to before the Revolutionary War. After you take a picture with Mr. Bunny, grab your baskets and head to the pretty glade in front of the kilns, where kids can hunt and gather candy-filled eggs before getting back on the train.

This half-hour swim lesson doesn’t require previous experience, and one parent per child is required. New Jersey Makers Day

Join a celebration of maker culture across New Jersey. This event connects individuals of all ages with libraries, schools, and businesses that support STEM-based learning and will have projects and interactive events at each participating site.

Lambing at Howell Living History Farm
March 25 from 10 AM 
It’s spring and time for lambing season at Howell Farm. Kids will love hearing about the flock of period Romney-Suffolk sheep and might even see a lamb born. You will also see how horses shed their winter coats and farmers work in the fields.

It’s the annual open house to try maple sugaring in NJ. See how the trees are tapped and syrup is made. Local maple syrup will be for sale, and parking is free.

Black River & Western Railroad – Easter Bunny Express
March 25 at 10 AM 
Hop on over to the annual Easter Bunny Express, where the whole fam can take a train ride that stops in Ringoes, snap photos with Peter Cottontail, and then go on an egg hunt (don’t forget to bring a basket).

Duffield’s Easter Bunny Visit
March 25 – April 8 at 10 AM

Take a spring hayride to see the Easter Bunny at the Bunny House, where you can spend some time snapping photos for the gram. After, check out the market where treats will be for sale.

Allentown’s 2nd Annual Daffodil Days

Take in the beauty of 5,000 daffodils planted by volunteers all across Allentown. This family-friendly festival features a parade at noon followed by more than 30 activities and boutique shop specials. Enjoy free crafts and fun with the Future Farmers of America & Allentown Garden Club.

The Baby Expo

Learn all you might need as an expecting mother, grandparent, or parent with babies and toddlers at The Baby Expo. While parents check out the ideas for nursery planning, birth announcements, and much more, kids can have a ball with face painting and photo op stations with characters like Spiderman and Elsa.

10th Annual Spring Model Train Show

All aboard for a fun time at the 10th annual model train show hosted by the Garden State Model Railway Club. Your kids can try running trains on their children’s layout or check out a new railroad currently under construction.

Jenkinson’s Amusement Park Opening Weekend

Egg and Veggie Hunt 2023

NJ Audubon: Croaks, Trills, and Splashes

Explore a vernal pond with nets and buckets, looking for anything that hops, swims, or crawls. You will listen and look for the wood frogs that come to the ponds to lay their eggs once a year.

Whippany Railway Museum’s Easter Bunny Express

The Great Red Bank Egg Hunt

3rd Annual Cranford Truck Parade
