We’re entering our summer of 2024 era, and we’re here for it, especially with all the FREE things to do with the family in June. Spend time among gorgeous blooms and watch demonstrations at Deep Cut Gardens Open House in Middletown, step back in time to watch an Old Time Baseball Game in Lambertville, hop on free amusement rides, and listen to live music at the Skimmer Festival in Sea Isle City. Taste of Greece Festival Tenafly
May 31-June 2 at 12 PM
At this lively event, everyone is a little Greek. It features performances by a dance troupe, cathedral tours, and live music for the whole family.

Deep Cut Gardens Open House
June 1 at 10 AM
Gather your crew and head to Deep Cut Gardens for an open house. There, you can enjoy tours, demonstrations, drop-in activities for children, and more.

West Orange Street Fair 2024
June 1 at 11 AM
Join one of the biggest events of the year in West Orange. The Street Fair features local crafters, food from local vendors, street performers, a classic car show, a beer and wine garden, a rock-climbing wall, free all-day admission to the Thomas Edison Museum, and more.

Kids Fishing Derby
June 1 at 9 AM
The early bird gets the worm at this fishing derby, which includes a free lunch and a casting contest for kids. There will also be awards and goodie bags. The event is open to ages 2-15.

West Cape May Strawberry Festival
June 1 at 9 AM
Get ready for a delicious festival that’s about all things strawberry. There will be local artisan vendors, live music, food, and, of course—strawberries.

Haddonfield Skirmish
June 1 at 9 AM
The British will invade Haddonfield just like they did 246 years ago and face opposition from the Continental troops in this reenactment. There will be a Yelling contest, colonial dancing, and character reenactors. Festivities start at 9 AM, and the skirmish begins at 2 PM.

47th Annual Hungarian Festival
June 1 at 11 AM
Where else can you see a folk dance performance, participate in cultural programs, and sample Hungarian foods? The Hungarian Festival has vendors, exhibits, live music, and folk art for the whole family to enjoy.

Under Cover Music Fest
June 1 at 2 PM
Enjoy great music as nine cover bands take the stage at Under Cover Music Fest. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from local eateries, and kids’ activities will be available in the Y-Zone from 2 to 6 PM courtesy of the South Mountain YMCA.

Jersey City Night Market

It’s the 34th Annual Summerfest in the Park—the festival will feature live music, food trucks, craft vendors, and inflatables for the kids. The rain date is June 2.

June 2 at 10 AM

Jersey Pride – NJ 32nd Annual Statewide LGBTQ Pride Parade
June 2 at 12 PM 

It’s New Jersey’s annual statewide LGBTQ pride celebration with a free parade of entertainment and headline performers that kicks off at noon. After, join the festival (a $10 entrance fee), and don’t forget to bring a non-perishable item for the food drive.
The parade route begins at Town Hall and continues to Cookman to Grand to Sunset to the festival grounds at Sunset and Ocean, Asbury Park, NJ 07712

Fair Lawn Street Fair
June 2 at 11 AM
Everyone will enjoy a day outdoors in Fair Lawn with live music, a DJ, crafters, vendors, and more.

250th Anniversary of Walnford
June 6 at 3 PM
Tour the house of the Waln family and sample ice cream made from an 18th-century recipe in celebration of the 250th anniversary of their arrival at Walnford.

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 40th Annual Greek Festival
June 6-9
Bring the whole family to watch Greek dance performances and fireworks on Thursday and Sunday nights. There will even be amusement rides (for a fee), Greek food, and free parking.

Old Time Baseball Game
June 8 at 10 AM
Watch Howell Farm’s two teams play by 19th-century Town Ball rules and invite visitors of all ages to step up to the plate as “Striker” and face off against the “Thrower.” There will also be a baseball scavenger hunt for the kids at 11 AM.

Sparta Day 2024

Stafford Township Founders Day 2024

Watch the parade, then head to the festivities, where the whole family will have a ball. There will be food trucks, inflatables, mechanical rides, entertainment by Ridgemont High, and more. The day ends with a fireworks display at dusk. The rain date is June 9.

Westfield Street Fair

Head to downtown Westfield for a day of live music, a DJ, dancing, children’s rides, games, and something for the whole family.

June 8 at 2 PM
Spend the day listening to live music and checking out the kids’ play zone, games, contests, a trackless train, pony rides, and a chocolate-eating contest. Don’t miss the fireworks at 9 PM. The rain date is June 9.

Skimmer Festival
June 15 at 9 AM

The festival will begin with a Seaside Vendor Craft Market along the oceanfront Promenade, and the Skimmer Food Court will be open in front of Excursion Park. Inside Excursion Park, there will be live music and free family activities. There will also be free amusement rides from 10 AM to 4 PM.

The Sustainably Green Music and Arts Festival
June 15 at 10 AM
Learn how to be more sustainable at this festival, which will feature live music, arts and crafts vendors, shopping, kids’ activities, and more for the whole family.

Summer Solstice Music Festival
June 21 at 4 PM

Blueberry Summer Fest
June 22 – July 20, Saturdays at 10 AM
It’s blueberry time. Pick blueberries, take a wagon ride, enjoy locally made blueberry pies, donuts, and cakes, tour the home of The Blueberry Queen, Elizabeth Coleman White, and shop handmade vendors while listening to music on the Whitesbog stage.
Cost: no fee, but donations are appreciated.

Jenkinson’s Movies on the Beach
Tuesdays starting June 25
Grab your beach towel and chairs and kick off a summer of free movies on the beach at Jenkinson’s. The first film is Trolls Band Together, and over the summer, there are more family-friendly flicks like Wonka and Haunted Mansion.

Margate Beachstock
June 29 at 8 AM
Head to the beach for a full day of family fun. Enjoy live music, free surf, kite lessons, children’s activities, new food vendors, and more. This event will feature the Red Bull Foam Wreckers Soft Board Surf Classic, fun environmental, educational, interactive activities, and live music. The rain date is June 30.

Firefly Festival at Terhune Orchards
June 30 at 4 PM
Treat yourself to an electrifying afternoon and evening where children can dress up as fireflies after decorating wings and making antennas in the craft area. Lolly Hop will be performing an interactive and imaginative show. Cost: Admission to the festival is free; there is a $7 charge for craft activities.
