Woodbridge Township Main Street Tree Lighting and Light Parade
November 28, tree lighting — 5:30PM; light Parade — starts at 6:15PM
Come to Main Street in Woodbridge to watch the tree light up. Afterward, get in the holiday spirit—while honoring emergency service organizations at the same time—as a parade of festively lit up and decorated emergency vehicles drive around the town. Feel free to stay on Main Street, as they’ll be passing by there.
Jersey City Holiday Lighting Ceremony–CANCELLED
December 3, 5:30PM-6PM
The Historic Downtown Special Improvement District’s annual holiday celebration includes a Christmas tree and Menorah lighting to put everyone in a holiday mood. Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate and wait for Santa to visit on a fire truck. Gifts will be given out to children in need while supplies last.

Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Newton
December 4, 5PM
Tree Lighting — 5:15PM
Get in the holiday spirit with the Newton Tree Lighting. The festivities start at 5PM, with a DJ playing holiday music and cookies, juice, and milk to eat and drink. The tree lighting will be at 5:15PM, and then socially-distanced pictures with Santa for your kiddos will happen in two sessions: Session 1 will start at 5:30PM, and Session 2 will begin at 6:30PM. Tickets are free but required—everyone (even your littlest of littles) needs one.

Tree lighting — 6PM-8PM
The tree lighting—along with a visit from St. Nick—will be happening in the evening, but come earlier to explore what the holiday market has to offer. Grab a bite to eat from the food trucks—they have kid-approved choices like fudge and pizza—and do some shopping at any of the craft vendors. They’re selling a range of goods, from fashion accessories to soap to holiday gifts. And, of course, holiday music will be playing throughout the event.

Virtually watch the North Avenue tree in Downtown Westfield light up on the town’s Facebook page. The tree lighting is just part of a series of virtual events that are happening that day. Watch Goo Goo Dolls’ lead vocalist John Rzeznik in a live stream concert, bid in an online auction to and enter in a raffle—all proceeds will go towards Westfield Food Pantry and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
Matawan Borough Recreation’s Holly Jolly Holiday Show

Get in the holiday spirit with this virtual festive event, live-streamed on the Borough of Matawan, NJ Facebook page. There will be musical and dance performances, a candle lighting ceremony, and the tree lighting ceremony. Santa will also make an appearance—he’ll be reading “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” for your littles.

Ring in the season as you (virtually) watch the tree in Veterans’ Park light up for the holidays. There will also be Christmas carols to sing along to—and a certain couple will be coming down from the North Pole to make a guest appearance at the event.
