Stay or go. Either way, the three-day President’s weekend has big plans for you. Hopefully, it involves some sleeping in (if your littles allow it) to pump you up for a bonus day with the fam-bam. You’ve got to crawl before you weekend, you feel us? Then fast forward to 10 President’s Day activities happening in New Jersey – from painting and pizza (oooh that just rolls off our tongues!) to hippo love, there is something to satisfy everyone in your family.

1. President’s Day Skate

Do your kids love to skate? BBP Skating in Newark is offering a great deal for your family this President’s Day. For $10 per person, your family can skate the afternoon away. The cost includes admission, skate rental, a slice of pizza, and a drink. If you’re more a spectator than The Cutting Edge type, you can get admission, a slice of pizza and a drink for $6.

2. President’s Day at The Funplex

This indoor amusement park has special extended hours on President’s Day to make sure your family gets the most out of your visit. With tons of attractions like go-karts, laser tag, arcade games, bumper cars and more, you’re guaranteed to have a bumping good time!

3. Painting & Pizza

Painting and pizza – what could be better than that? ArtWorx Events is hosting a presidential Painting and Pizza day for families at Whole Foods Market in Wall, NJ. You will get to create a wooden heart door hanger with your family before diving into pizza courtesy of Whole Foods Market.

4. Ice Skating and Winter Fun at Pier Village

Lace up those skates and twirl away by-the-sea at Pier Village’s iconic Ice Rink. This President’s Day is the final day to skate before the rink closes for the season. 5. Insectropolis

Whether they love creatures with more than eight legs or the smallest of critters that fly through the air, your kids will enjoy a fun and educational experience. Set within the architecture of a bug-themed city, the creative displays will entertain and teach kids all about their favorite creepy-crawlers. There are live presentations until 2:00PM.

6. Montclair History Center President’s Day
10:00AM to 12:00PM
For a more traditional Presidents Day (you know, celebrating presidents), you and your family can head over to Crane House & Historic YWCA. Through Presidents-themed crafts and activities, your kids will learn all about the different presidents, their families, and their lives. The two-hour program fills up fast, so make sure to register by February 14.

7. State Theatre Family Day

The State Theatre will be open all day for your family to have a good time. Family Day will let your kids be whatever they want to be with face painting while meeting some of their favorite characters from popular shows. With performances, workshops, and hands-on activities that the whole family can enjoy. Don’t miss out on this annual event with your family during this day off.

8. 4th Annual Hippo Awareness Weekend

If you’ve ever wanted to take a selfie with a hippo, now you can. Back by popular demand, Adventure Aquarium is hosting their 4th Annual Hippo Awareness Weekend to raise awareness about hippo conservation. Spend a fun-filled day at the aquarium playing games, making crafts, and checking out the Hippo Kissing Booth (yes, really!). Don’t forget to use #HippoLove and #NJMOM when you take a selfie with a hippo. Lastly, grab a limited edition, custom-designed t-shirt with a hippo kiss print. Your donations will help save hippos in the wild and benefit the Turgwe Hippo Trust, a non-profit organization in Zimbabwe.

9. The Big Event Entertainment Experience

Bowling, games, and arcades – oh my! Do all of this and more at The Big Event Entertainment Experience in Cherry Hill this President’s Day. They are offering a $16.99 special for anyone who comes in between 9:00AM and 5:00PM for two games of bowling, shoe rental, a game play card worth $5, and one hour of video game play time.

10. Monmouth Museum Kids Workshops
All Day
Whether your child loves “Star Wars,” science, or robotics, the Monmouth Museum will be able to occupy each of your kids’ interests all President’s Day with a variety of workshops. One can discover the magic of LEGOs with the characters of “Star Wars” while another one learns about snowflakes. One of your kids can even learn about robots!
