Stop by this farm for a festive hayride and hunt. After your search, visit Peter Rabbit and create some sweet treats by decorating rabbit and egg-shaped cookies. And make sure you visit the barnyard animals after—admission is half-price with egg hunt tickets.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Support the Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity. There will be professional photos, live entertainment provided by DJ Zi’Ro, and a book reading from Miss North Jersey’s Outstanding Teen and local author Rylee Howerton. Space is limited, and reservations are required.

Spring Beekeeping and Gardening
April 2 at 10 AM
Learn what makes a healthy hive and meet honeybees, peek inside their hive, and find out what they do around the farm and in the gardens. Howell Farm beekeeper, Johanna Swartzentruber, will open the hives and check the health of the colony at 11 AM by looking at the bees and their work on the comb. A 45-minute presentation about “Life in a Honeybee Colony” will begin at 2:00.

Opening Day at Allaire

Craft guilds will demonstrate their 19th-century skills, and there will be guided tours of the historic buildings, including two of the newly developed interpretive sites this year. Join the rescheduled Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day parade. Start the lineup early at Klee’s Bar and Grill, the official home of the 2022 parade. At the end of the parade, see the Massed Band and a 40′ long American flag. There will also be a post-parade party at the Hershey Motel.

Sensory Celebration

In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, explore the Van Vleck gardens using your senses as your guide. Activity stations will be arranged throughout the property, focusing on different textures, smells, shapes, and colors found in the natural world. Meet and greet animals from Eyes of the Wild, an exotic animal rescue, and learn how these amazing creatures use their senses. This outdoor family program is an inclusive event, open to people of all ages and abilities, and held entirely outdoors. In case of inclement weather, a rain date will be announced.

Princess Tea Party

Branch Brook Park’s beautiful pink Japanese Cherry Blossom trees explode with color all over the park in early April. It’s an outdoor health and wellness festival coinciding with cherry blossom season in Essex County Branch Brook Park. Kick off spring by celebrating everything daffy at this first annual festival that celebrates over 2000 daffodil bulbs planted throughout town.
