Across the state, towns have built memorials to forever remember the innocent lives that were lost that day. Each year, individual communities commemorate the day in their own way. Empty Sky Memorial Ceremony
Take some time on Sunday September 11 and visit the Empty Sky Memorial to commemorate those lives lost 15 years ago. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, pick a spot with the family and take part in this beautiful tribute.

9/11 Heroes Run
Walkers and runners alike can register and partake in the 5K plus 1 mile fun run/walk in Pennsauken! Completely brought to the community by volunteers, this event is fun for all ages and allows everyone to come out and thank local veterans, families and first responders! Refreshments and family fun activities are immediately following the 5K.

9/11 Tribute Ceremony
During the Yamaha Superbike Challenge of NJ, there will be a 9/11 Tribute Ceremony for first responders and military members! A Fan Walk will feature an emergency vehicle lap, American flag folding ceremony and a moment of silence for all lives lost that devastating day. All ticket sales will go to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.

Patriot Day Ceremony
Travel to the beautiful beach town of Cape May and take part in the moving Patriot Day Ceremony. This commemorative event includes speakers from local organizations and community leaders, the lowering of the flag to honor those who lost their lives and a moment of silence.

September 11th Memorial Service
The Hoboken community will come together to share in its annual September 11th Interfaith Memorial Service for the victims, their families, the City of Hoboken, and the entire nation.
The service will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. on the southeast corner of Hoboken’s Pier A Park. All are invited to attend.

Wreath Laying Ceremony
As night time ascends upon the 9/11 Memorial Site in Old Bridge, find your way there and witness the beautiful Wreath Laying Ceremony! The Mayor and Town Council have put together a time for the community to remember first responders, military members and all others who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
