Cooking for your family can be a challenge anytime, but during COVID—well, that’s a whole different story. When your life is balancing WFH, virtual school, and being chief entertainment officer to your kids, making three meals a day can add to an already stressful sitch. To help make cooking less of a chore (and get your kids on board with pitching in), we’re sitting down with Renee Gonzalez, a certified chef and founder of Bambino Chef, where she introduces kids to the magic of the kitchen. Renee will be offering family-friendly recipes for easy meals and snacks, tips on how to keep meals healthy, and how to make family cooking fun. So head over to our Facebook page on Tuesday at 8 PM and click on the videos tab on the left-hand side to watch. Send a quick hello in the comments, tell us how you’re doing, or ask us a question— we’d love to hear from you. In the meantime, answer our quick one-question poll, and your thoughts might be featured on NJMOM and News12 this week.

About Renne

Renee Gonzalez is an NJMOM, Certified Chef, Youth Nutrition Specialist, and founder of Bambino Chef in Jersey City, a cooking studio for children. In her recipes and classes, Renee focuses on healthy dishes that will expand a child’s palate, spark curiosity in trying new foods, sharpen kitchen skills, build confidence, and develop social skills. As part of her mission to give back to the community, she has created a free program for local schools, “Healthy Bambino,” where she hosts workshops for children about the importance of healthy eating and cooking. Rene also has training for working with food allergies and occasionally hosts sessions for families providing tips and recipes for cooking with various substitutes.
