Looking for a way to give back this September? Rock out at the Rock & Blues Festival for Veterans at Schaefer Farms in Flemington, cuddle up to over 50 adoptable dogs at Puptoberfest in Succasunna or support services that help grieving parents at The Fifth Annual Angel Walk presented by the Hudson Shea Foundation in Paramus. No matter how you choose to give back this month, these events are the perfect way to show your littles how to pay it forward (and spend a fun family day together while doing it).

Rock & Blues Festival for Veterans at Schaefer Farms
September 7, 1 PM – 9 PM
Spend a day at the farm for two great causes, all while having a great time with friends and family. The Rock and Blues Festival benefits Rebuilding Warriors, an organization that provides service dogs to veterans, and VetREST, an organization that helps veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Kick back and listen to over five rock and blues bands, stop by the food trucks and bring your littles to the petting zoo at this outdoor fest. All proceeds benefit Rebuilding Warriors and VetREST.

The Allaire Community Farm and Food Truck Festival
September 14, 11 AM – 4 PM
The Historic Village at Allaire and Allaire Community Farms invites you, your family and friends to the Allaire Farm and Food Truck Fundraiser. It’ll be a day full of popular food trucks, live music, animals, history demonstrations and more—all held on the beautiful grounds of Allaire State Park.

Puptoberfest
September 14, 11 AM – 5 PM
If being surrounded by some seriously adorable pups is one of your family’s dreams come true, definitely stop by Puptoberfest this September. You can also enjoy live music, food trucks, prizes, dog contests and tons of fun activities while supporting Eleventh Hour Rescue. If you do bring your dog, remember to dress them in a costume—you might be able to win a prize or two.  An added bonus? If you aren’t already a pup owner, there will be up to 50 Dogs available for adoption at the event.

The Fifth Annual Angel Walk, Presented By the Hudson She Foundation
September 14, 10 AM – 12 PM
After the unexpected loss of their newborn son, Hudson, in 2011, parents Melissa and Adam Yoskowitz created The Hudson Shea Foundation to create perinatal and neonatal services to support grieving parents. This walk is held each year in remembrance of these lost angels, and the foundation hopes you will support them with community projects, support groups and other services by purchasing tickets, registering a team or making a donation at this inspiring event.

3rd Annual Girls Matter Walk & 10th Anniversary Festival 
September 15, 9 AM – 4 PM
Girls; Live, Love, Laugh Inc. is throwing its 3rd annual Girls Matter Walk, in conjunction with Mayor Ras J. Baraka’s office and the city of Newark. Thanks to this empowering event, every female family member can celebrate being a woman, being a mother and raising a daughter at this inspiring walk for girls of every age. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of Girls’ Live, Love, Laugh, Inc., a festival will follow the walk. While this is a free event, donations of new socks, winter gloves, hats, personal hygiene items, gently worn shoes and eyeglasses are greatly appreciated—they’ll be given to homeless shelters throughout Newark. Remember, #GIRLSMATTER!

4th Annual Tails of Hope Beach Bash BBQ Bash 2019
September 22, 2 PM – 6 PM
Soak in the beautiful ocean views of the Jersey shore while supporting Tails of Hope, a volunteer, non-profit and no-kill animal rescue organization serving our state and all animal breeds within it. This fun charity festival features live music, a barbecue style buffet with vegetarian options, a cash bar with drink specials, a 50/50 raffle, gift basket auction and boardwalk-style games. All proceeds benefit the animals of Tails of Hope.

Rock the Farm Festival
September 28, 12 PM – 10 PM
Known as the “ma and pop music festival”, this family-friendly event allows re-entry throughout the day to enjoy an affordable day of things to do that kids and their parents will love, including but not limited to food trucks, a beer and wine garden, foam party and yoga. At Rock The Farm Festival, all of the proceeds go directly to CFC Loud N Clear Foundation, which provides free services to over 7,500 families battling addiction in the state.
