It’s a wonderful time of year to get into the giving spirit of the season! Run or walk with the New Jersey Devils and RWJ Barnabas Health 5K in West Orange, honor those with cancer at the Light the Night Walk for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Princeton, or take a chilly dip (if you dare!) in the Atlantic at the Thanks4Giving Plunge and 5K in Asbury Park. However you choose to give back this November, teaching your kids about charity and paying it forward benefits us all.

RWJ Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk
November 2, 7AM
Team up with the New Jersey Devils and RWJ Barnabas Health  at this family-friendly run and walk, that benefits RWJ Barnabas Health’s programs and services. After the run, you’ll get free admission to the Turtle Back Zoo, as well as a discount for Mini Golf Safari and indoor skating at Cody Arena. Look out for special appearances by the New Jersey Devils mascot and alumni, as well as a mascot race, games and photo opps.

Cost: 5K Run: Runners – $30, USATF Runners – $25
Fun Walk: Adults $20, Kids (ages 5 – 17) – $15, Kids under 4 are free

Light the Night Walk for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
November 2, 4:30PM
Grab your flashlights, lanterns and glow sticks for a night to honor patients living with leukemia and lymphoma cancer and those who’ve passed.The lanterns will light the path as you walk through the park, while donations go towards funding treatments and support services. It’s an incredibly beautiful, heartwarming evening of resilience and remembrance.

Justice Rocks Fair Trade Market and Concert
November 15, 7PM-10PM

Get a head start on holiday shopping and help end human trafficking at this festive market hosted by the Justice Network and NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking. Check gifts off your list when you shop at over dozen ethical vendors, stop for a bite and listen to sounds of the Cross Revolution Band. Don’t forget to bring a gift card for food and clothing ($10-$15 is the suggested amount) that will be donated to trafficking survivors.

Thanks4Giving Plunge and 5K
November 16, 10:30AM-3PM
Take the plunge and be freezin’ for a reason during this fun-filled event that supports Special Olympics.Raise money, start a team, or simply just go to spectate at the Thanks4Giving 5K which runs through Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, and Bradley Beach. Afterwards, take a dip in the chilly Atlantic! You can sign up for one event or both, receive a t shirt and bib for the dash and a sweatshirt (if you raise $100) for the plunge.

Run Your Giblets Off Turkey Trot
November 28, 8AM
Get rid of turkey day guilt by having the whole family lace up to support a great cause: The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean counties. Run or walk together or let the littles go at their own pace in the Kids Fun Run, all while admiring the beautifully, new-developed campus of Bell Works. Your registration fee includes the official “Run Your Giblets Off Turkey Trot” long sleeve shirt, a bib, bottled water, sponsor swag and a donation to the Foodbank.
