School is just around the corner, but summer fun doesn’t have to end. Enjoy a night of food, good times, and games at the Outdoor Food and Music Fest in Paramus, see a magic show at the Imagine That Museum in Florham Park or spend a Friday night feasting on farm-to-table food and listening to live sounds at Donaldson Farms in Hackettstown.

Starlight Drive-In Family Movie Night: The Goonies

Are you missing going to a show? Get your fix at one of these family-friendly, vaudeville-style Broadway Cabaret nights. Make a reservation on the patio, and sing along with the performers, who’ll be incorporating guests into the show for a jolly night of music and ice cream.

August 27, 6 PM – 9:30 PM 
Take the family out for a lively (and socially distanced) night of food trucks and vendors, music, mini golf, hatchet tossing, corn hole, fair games, and more. And if you can sneak away to sample a new brew, Ghost Hawks Brewery & Wine will be there, too.
$7 per adult, $5 for ages 4-12, kids 3 and under are free

Friday Nights at Donaldson Farms

The farm is the place to be on Fridays—head out for family fun outdoors. You’ll have a ball admiring the sunset while eating the most delicious, farm to table meals by James Off Main and enjoying live Blues music by The Trevor B. Power Band.

The Newark Museum of Art Jazz Sessions: An Evening with Sheila Anderson

Find your turf (square) at the Imagine That Museum and enjoy an outdoor magic show with the fam. Littles will be delighted to dance around your square with Spiderman and Peppa Pig. Order food to be delivered to your square and no need to worry about a bathroom break—the restrooms will be open.

  1. Hi: My wife and I have our two grandchildren, Quinn 4 and Max 5 on Labor Day weekend. Impossible to take them to the shore. It will be a mad house! We are looking for some places to take them in the Western Monmouth County area that will be interesting and fun for both boys.
