Catch a local high school football game
Nothing is better than football at Thanksgiving! Instead of paying the big bucks for NFL tickets, keep it simple and cheer on your hometown high school’s football team at a local game. Not only will you be getting involved with your community and supporting your neighbors, but you won’t have to deal with the hassle of bringing the kids in and out of a big stadium with lots of lines, stairs, and big crowds. Pack some snacks, a comfy blanket, and make a day out of it while cheering on your team.

Sure, summer is over (I think we’ve finally accepted that), but swimming is still a favorite activity for kids – and it’s great exercise for the whole family. Visit a sports complex that has drop-in rates for indoor pools. If you love it, consider a family pass for the whole winter to keep you tied over until beach weather is back. A day at the pool this week can be a perfect way to fill in the gaps in your schedule. We’ve listed a few below, but you can always check your local YMCA or a Life Time Fitness location near you.
