Do your kids love to skate? BBP Skating in Newark is offering a great deal for your family this President’s Day. For $10 per person, your family can skate the afternoon away. The cost includes admission, skate rental, a slice of pizza, and a drink. If you’re more a spectator than The Cutting Edge type, you can get admission, a slice of pizza and a drink for $6.

2. President’s Day at The Funplex

3. Painting & Pizza

Painting and pizza – what could be better than that? ArtWorx Events is hosting a presidential Painting and Pizza day for families at Whole Foods Market in Wall, NJ. You will get to create a wooden heart door hanger with your family before diving into pizza courtesy of Whole Foods Market.

4. Ice Skating and Winter Fun at Pier Village

5. Insectropolis

Set within the architecture of a bug-themed city, the creative displays will entertain and teach kids all about their favorite creepy-crawlers. There are live presentations until 2:00PM.

6. Montclair History Center President’s Day

For a more traditional Presidents Day (you know, celebrating presidents), you and your family can head over to Crane House & Historic YWCA. Through Presidents-themed crafts and activities, your kids will learn all about the different presidents, their families, and their lives. The two-hour program fills up fast, so make sure to register by February 14.

7. State Theatre Family Day

The State Theatre will be open all day for your family to have a good time. Family Day will let your kids be whatever they want to be with face painting while meeting some of their favorite characters from popular shows. 8. 4th Annual Hippo Awareness Weekend

If you’ve ever wanted to take a selfie with a hippo, now you can. Back by popular demand, Adventure Aquarium is hosting their 4th Annual Hippo Awareness Weekend to raise awareness about hippo conservation. Spend a fun-filled day at the aquarium playing games, making crafts, and checking out the Hippo Kissing Booth (yes, really!). Don’t forget to use #HippoLove and #NJMOM when you take a selfie with a hippo. Lastly, grab a limited edition, custom-designed t-shirt with a hippo kiss print. Your donations will help save hippos in the wild and benefit the Turgwe Hippo Trust, a non-profit organization in Zimbabwe.

9. The Big Event Entertainment Experience

10. Monmouth Museum Kids Workshops
