The Real NJMOMs of NJ: Jessica L., Edgewater
Edgewater mom Jessica L. is a Tony Awards-recognized theatre educator, school co-founder, lifestyle blogger, and a boy mom – which basically makes her Wonder Woman in our eyes. She began her blog, This Season’s Gold, as a therapeutic outlet after losing her daughter who was stillborn at 34 weeks. Jessica loves living in Edgewater, Bergen County, and its proximity to New York City. “Edgewater is unique in its not-so-little corner up by the George Washington Bridge along the Hudson River,” says Jessica. “I love the ease at which I can see the beautiful New York City skyline and go for walks with my family on warm days.”
We love following along on Jessica’s stylish Instagram adventures at home and in the city. Raise your hand if you’re heart eyes, too, over this inspiring Edgewater mom’s grit and beauty! Read on for Jessica’s favorite places to eat, play, and shop in Edgewater + a bonus tip on her best-kept secret in town.
EAT in Edgewater
SEAK
I’m currently loving SEAK because not only do I love good Thai food, but it’s helped my son branch out and try a new cuisine and new flavors as well. My fave dish on the menu? The Tom Yum shrimp w/ vermicelli soup all the way!

PLAY in Edgewater
Veterans Field
I’m so happy with the renewal of the Veterans Field park in Edgewater. It not only has a small outdoor “gym” and a water sprinkler park during the summer, but also a walkway that gives you the most picturesque views of the George Washington Bridge and NYC.

SHOP in Edgewater
City Place
You can’t go wrong with shopping at City Place! From Ulta (which makes this beauty-obsessed gal super happy!) to Anthropologie and more, I love the options there. I wouldn’t mind a great shoe store as well, so hoping that comes back soon.

BEST KEPT SECRET in Edgewater
Ross Dock Picnic Area
I think a great “Best Kept Secret” would be the Ross Dock Picnic area under the GWB. I threw my son’s fourth birthday party there and it has the most stunning views on a beautiful summer day – safe to say, everyone enjoyed it. You can BBQ here with your family, and there’s also a playground.
