NJMompreneur and Relationship Expert, Rachel DeAlto

NJMOM: What do you offer to your clients and how is it different than other professionals in your field?

Rachel: By title, I am a Relationship Expert and Hypnotherapist. I started as a coach focusing on romantic love – helping individuals find it, and helping couples retain it. When I began introducing hypnosis into my practice, it has expanded a thousandfold. I still believe that all of my work falls under relationships, not only with others, but ourselves as well. Above all, my work helps people to attain a better relationship within and to help their external relationships.

NJMOM: What is Hypnotherapy?

Rachel: Hypnotherapy is meditation, but with a goal. Anyone who has a desire to change will benefit from Hypnotherapy. Some of those areas of change are addiction, anxiety, phobias, confidence, smoking cessation, weight loss and self love. I have used hypnosis, aka meditation, with all ages, from middle school students to senior citizens to heal old wounds, remove the cords of attachment, and break habits that are preventing you from living your best life.
{Editor’s Note: Rachel radically changed my life through hypnotherapy. Read more about hypnotherapy on Rachel’s website. }

NJMOM: What inspired you to come up with the idea for your business?

Rachel: It all started when I was a lawyer and had an idea for a product. My partner and I created FlipMe.com, which is a way for women to flirt without giving out their personal information. Media from FlipMe led to people asking me to coach – a concept that was foreign to me! I was a lawyer, running a company. But I fell in love with working with individuals, and began coaching after completing my certification. Hypnosis has taken everything to the next level – from a businesswoman to a healer (with a business brain).

NJMOM: What is your favorite part about your business?

Rachel: The results.
Seeing someone find happiness – within and with others – is the greatest joy I have ever experienced.

NJMOM: What is your background in your business expertise?

Rachel: I have been a voracious knowledge gatherer all my life. I believe my background in communications and law has helped me to truly understand people, and combine with certifications in coaching and hypnotherapy, I am able to truly help people achieve their goals. I still learn every day – whether it be at conferences, through books, or experience. Life is one long learning lesson!

NJMOM: Who is your role model?

Rachel: I love Brene Brown. Her effortless grace and intellect is inspiring.

NJMOM: What’s the best piece of advice your mom ever gave to you?

Rachel:
You can do anything.
I was always raised to believe that there was nothing I couldn’t do if I put my mind to it. I still feel that way as I continue to grow and evolve in my practice.

NJMOM: Do you have a favorite quote you live by?

Rachel:
“What is for you will not pass you by”
I believe that everything happens for a reason, and everything that doesn’t happen is for a reason too. This quote allows me to stay in the flow, and to know that I am exactly where I need to be, doing exactly what I need to do.

NJMOM: What are your favorite things to do in New Jersey with your family?

Rachel: The beach! Although, that’s a bit tough right now. I also love being able to take the kids to the reservoirs and parks – as much nature as possible.

NJMOM: What is the best part about being a mom for you?

Rachel:
Seeing their joy.
A happy child is the greatest blessing in life. My only goal is to help them keep their wonder, know their worth, and grow up to be kind adults. It’s the most gratifying job of all.

NJMOM: What are your favorite businesses in New Jersey?

Rachel: I wouldn’t be who I am without Elan Hair Studio in Sea Girt – haha. I also LOVE Brave New World. Violet & Valentine in Manasquan is amazing for my daughter’s clothes – I wish they carried versions in my size.

NJMOM: Where do you reside in New Jersey?

Rachel: I live in Point Pleasant – I’m a beach girl! I love that I am able to get to the city in an hour, but when I come home I am in a completely different environment. It’s unbelievably beautiful and peaceful.

Living the mommy life in Mercer County, Chelsea can be found daily chasing down her 3 year old son, or trying to keep her 6 month old daughter from getting her hands on everything in sight. When not studying Marketing at Rider University, Chelsea loves to get her children out of the house to all the many parks, festivals, and orchards Mercer County offers. If any free time happens to fall upon Chelsea’s lap, she enjoys reading Stephen King novels, trying new cooking recipes and catching up on episodes of Food Network’s hit show, Chopped. Being able to have the opportunity to write for NJ Mom is an honor for her because she knows how difficult it can be to find something for the whole family to enjoy, so it is awesome that everything you need is right in one place!
