NJ Dad and CEO of Whitehouse Station Sauce Company: John Kasper
John Kasper is the NJ Dadpreneur and owner of Whitehouse Station Sauce Company alongside his son, Jonathon Kasper. NJ Mom had the wonderful opportunity to ask John a few questions about his business and himself; here’s what he had to share.
What do you offer to your clients and how is it different than other professionals in your field?
We make a gourmet quality hot sauce that takes a culinary approach by using the science of sweetness to offset the heat of the peppers.
What inspired you to come up with the idea for your business?
My cousin was visiting me and had a bottle of homemade hot sauce with him. He said eating hot sauce had cured his acid reflux. I eat hot sauce every day and it cured me as well.
What is your favorite part about your business?
Getting to meet so many different people at shows. I had no idea how many people love hot sauce.
What is your background in your business expertise?
My full-time job is a salesman at Huston Lumber in Oldwick. My son Jonathan has a culinary degree from Johnson and Wales University. He’s worked at Ninety Acres in Peapack and The Ryland Inn in Whitehouse. He’s currently working at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster.
Who is your role model?
I’d have to say Bruce Springsteen. I’m also a singer/songwriter and admire his musical talent as well as his efforts to make the world a better place.
What’s the best piece of advice your mom or dad ever gave to you?
My dad had a great work ethic. He worked 2 jobs to support us and my Mom was always there for us at home.
