Any expectant mom wants the highest level of medical expertise as she gives birth, but added perks like a spacious state-of-the art private recovery room, over-the-bed bassinet for your new little bundle and even an amazing view certainly help make a hospital stay much more comfortable. Any #NJMOM who’s going to deliver at Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, will now get all that and more, thanks to a $13 million dollar renovation that brings all kinds of modern comforts to the new Lord Abbett Maternity Wing.
Privacy, space for family, and high-tech care for moms and babies
I had a chance to witness this project take shape, when I got an inside look at the existing wing back in May, and hear about the exciting changes ahead. Now that it’s all complete, Hudson County mamas now have the county’s only Level III NICU as well as a new, modern maternity wing to bring their babies into the world right in their backyard. To see all of the elements come together and now get a tour of the brand new wing was so cool.
New moms will love the over-the-bed Halo bassinets at JCMC
With 20 brand new private rooms, beautiful and peaceful family waiting spaces, and high-tech additions that help streamline and personalize patient care– like your medications and dosing listed right on your room’s TV– the upgrades are all a result of feedback from moms. JCMC asked moms in the community what they want when giving birth and made those requests come to life with the new wing.
