As moms, it’s easy to forget to stop and take care of ourselves, especially when we’re taking care of everyone else. But self-care is essential, and since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s a good excuse to put your health first. This month, RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, will host a number of special events and breast cancer screening and education programs across the state. Scroll down for free health screenings, education, and fundraising events this month, and don’t forget to schedule that mammogram too. (featured photo credit: istock/Vasyl Dolmatov)
