Not only is the QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning the largest ballooning festival in North America, it’s New Jersey’s premier event for family entertainment. Since 1983, this award-winning spectacle has welcomed families to the scenic countryside of Solberg-Hunterdon Airport in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey to watch as 100 hot air balloons of all shapes, sizes, and colors take flight. Festival-goers looking for a thrill can even purchase tickets to fly in a hot air balloon with a professional pilot in the mornings or evenings. The festival returns this year on July 28 to 30th, for its 35th year of hot air balloon celebrations.
Attracting more than 175,000 people over three days, this experience offers even more than hot air ballooning. Family music and entertainment will be offered throughout the weekend, with interactive performances including Belmont’s Festival of Magic, Aerial Acrobat Spectacular, and Live Family Concerts.
Up to 100 hot air balloons take part in Mass Inflation and Ascension once on Friday (6:30PM) and twice daily on Saturday and Sunday (6:30AM + 6:30PM). Pull up a blanket or lawn chairs with your family and enjoy the show as these gentle giants soar to the skies and float above the crowds as the festival continues below with activities and performances.
Each night concludes with a rockin’ concert presented by PNC Arts Center. With performances by popular national artists George Thorogood, Jake Miller, Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, and Davey and the Waverunners Trio – these are kid-friendly concerts that mom and dad can also enjoy.
