Since the 1970s in the United States, Take Back the Night has focused on eliminating sexual and domestic violence in all forms. Thousands of colleges, domestic violence shelters, and rape crisis centers have held events all over the country.”

Hoboken, like many cities around the United States, are focused on eliminating sexual and domestic violence. The second annual TAKE BACK THE NIGHT is an event supporting these efforts backed by Steven’s Institute of Technology, Carepoint Health, and Mayor Dawn Zimmer.

The Hoboken community is invited to meet on the Davis Lawn at Stevens Institute of Technology campus at 7pm for a walk over to Pier A. Walkers will chant until reaching the ‘silent area’ of the Pier where a ‘candlelight’ vigil will be held.
