Berenstain Bears LIVE in NYC

Last Sunday, my family and I spent a beautiful day in New York City at the newest Off-Broadway musical, The Berenstain Bears. After an enjoyable, traffic free car ride into the city, we found parking right next to the theater. Since the show started at 11am, we entered the parking garage early enough to receive the all-day parking special, with our final bill being only twenty dollars.

After parking, we went straight into the theatre, where both my children were immediately taken by the ambiance of the playhouse and the excitement of seeing the show. Because we had VIP tickets, all four of us received adorable bear ears to wear throughout the show and to take home with us as a souvenir. After taking silly pictures with the ears, we had a few minutes before show time and decided to visit the gift shop. Both of my children were thrilled when my husband and I allowed them to each pick their very own Berenstain Bear to take home.

After that, it was time to take our seats. The VIP ticket allowed my children to sit right in front of the stage on the grassy knoll. They loved the unique experience of being so close to the performance and were happily engaged during the entire sixty minute performance. It was also a blast for my husband and me to see the Berenstain Bears come to life. Growing up, both of us loved to read the books and watch the animated television show.

When the show ended, we were able to meet the all of the Bears, take pictures with them and participate in face painting. Each cast member took a moment to make both of my children feel special by giving them a hug, a smile or a high five. After that, we decided to walk the two short blocks to Central Park where we enjoyed a beautiful lunch picnic and participated in many of the activities the park has to offer.

We feel lucky to have enjoyed such a wonderful adventure together as a family!
