Try this super easy (and affordable) craft with the kiddos for an easy gift for their Valentine’s! I used a sponge to create a stamp that’s washable and kid friendly. Simply slide prints in an envelope to mail or display in a frame for a handmade keepsake.
Valentine’s DIY With Lindsey Crafter
Supplies Needed:
- Sponges (I get a four pack from the dollar store)
- Sharp scissors (for mom to do the snipping)
- Acrylic paint
- Sharpie Pen
- Paper Plates
- Cardstock
For paint colors, I chose fuchsia, gold and bronze.
{These two steps are for moms}
1. Start by tracing out your stamp motif with a sharpie
2. Using your sharp scissors ( I used my fabric scissors) cut along your sharpie lines to create clean edges.
Your kids can start by practicing on a scrap piece of paper. With only a light coat of paint needed, communicate with your kids that dabbing off the excess will create a cleaner print.
Be sure to press firmly over all of the sponge to ensure coverage before peeling off!
Allow the artwork to dry before framing or sending!
Happy crafting!
