If you’re looking for a cure for cabin fever, Tuckerton Seaport’s Cocoa Cup is for you!  Enjoy free hot chocolate while taking on your friends and family for title of the mini golf champ!  Each participant will be entered to win some delicious, chocolatey prizes.

2) Lowe’s Build & Grow – Sweetheart Picture Holder

Head to your local Lowe’s on Saturday morning to create a Sweetheart Picture Holder, just in time for Valentine’s Day! At Lowe’s Build and Grow events, children will build a wooden project, as well as receive an apron, goggles, a patch and more!

3) Flit, Flutter and Tweet: It’s All About Birds

Enjoy a festival of feathered fun this weekend at the Plainsboro Preserve.  Count birds at the feeding stations, help build nesting boxes for the spring time and learn all about some of New Jersey’s native birds.

4) Valentine’s Day Sleigh Rides
Saturday February 14th 11:00am-3:00pm
Enjoy an old fashioned sleigh ride around the Howell Living History Farm on Valentine’s Day.  Couples can choose from a horse drawn sleigh and families can choose a horse drawn bobsled ride.  Warm up inside by touring the recently restored farm house with hot chocolate.  Homemade Valentine’s Day treats will be available to purchase.

5) The Little Star that Could

Children ages six through 12 will love to travel along with an average yellow star as he tries to find a name and a planet all of his own.  Along the way, he meets other important stars who teaches the yellow star some very important things about a star!  The program is an introduction to the different types of stars and planets in our solar system.

6) Family Date Night

 7) Get immersed in a World of Wings

World of Wings offers a one-of-a-kind experience where children can learn to love nature through their specially designed butterfly atrium and animal exhibits.  Get to know creatures like lizards, frogs and reptiles from around the world.  When you are done with the exhibits, let the kids burn off some energy in the new bounce room!

8) Pinkalicious: The Musical

The popular children’s book, Pinkalicious comes to life at the Jersey Shore this Sunday at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in the form of a musical.  See what happens when Pinkalicious can’t stop eating pink cupcakes!  How will she get out of her pinkalicious predicament? too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament.

9) Frozen Sing Along

Bundle up warm for an afternoon of Frozen fun as you watch the sing along version of Disney’s Frozen on the big screen at Trailside Nature Science Center.  Stay warm throughout the movie with campfires and hot chocolate.  Get to the Center early to see a demonstration of the working skills of the New Jersey Sled Dog Club.

10) Birthday Bash

Family-Friendly rock band, The Fuzzy Lemons is celebrating their 7th birthday and you are invited!  Whether you are a new or old fan, this show is going to be a blast!  Join the band at the newly reopened Maxwell’s Tavern in Hoboken.

11) State Theater Family Day

12) Playtime at the Zoo!

Every Monday in the Bergen County Zoo Education Center classroom play with animal themed toys and meet a different zoo animal!  With the kids being off from school today, it’s the perfect day to take advantage of learning outside of the classroom!

Saturday February 14th, Sunday February 15th and Monday February 16th Sunrise to Sunset. Over a dozen of New Jersey’s National Parks will open their gates for free this weekend in honor of President’s Day weekend.  Some of the participating parks include: Ellis Island, Paterson Great Falls and the Delaware Water Gap.
