The nation’s biggest show for expectant and new families will be in New York City this weekend. Visit with over 150 of the top baby and family-friendly brands, get hands-on with baby gear, take classes, listen to seminars by experts and have fun! 1) Calling All Superheroes
Friday May 15th 6:30pm-8:30pm
Meet all of your favorite superheroes at the Garden State Discovery Museum. You can test your super powers with web slinging, zip lining, wall crashing, obstacle courses, and even the Great Villain Capture Contest! Kids will be able to write their own comic strip, take super selfies, create their own disguise, have some snacks and much more!

2) Ocean Fun Days

Celebrate the Jersey Shore with hands-on exhibits, classes, nature tours and children’s activities such as scavenger hunts, beach-combing, face painting, touch tanks and giveaways! Lunch can be purchased.

3) Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus XTreme

Be amazed at the Circus Xtreme with all sorts of x-traordinary entertainment at the Greatest Show on Earth! Belmar Recreation invites all children to the 8th Avenue Beach playground for a pirate treasure hunt! Each child will get a pirate bag full of pirate loot. 5) Princess K.I.M

8) Cookies & Canvas

9) Bayshore Fishing Derby

The 2nd Annual Saltwater Fishing Derby is this weekend at Bayshore Waterfront Park in Port Monmouth. This event is for the whole family, whether you are a beginner or an experienced fisherman. Park System Naturalists will be on hand to teach you to rig and cast your fishing pole, as well as free seining demonstrations to identify your catch. Supply your own fishing poles, bait and tackle for the tournament. Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish for three age categories.

10) Armed Forces Day Free Spaghetti Dinner

11) Your First Mud Run
Sunday May 17th 11:00am-2:00pm
Your First Mud Run is the only mud run in the country designed so both parents and kids can run together. The courses are 1.5 – 2 miles and include obstacles like wall climb, tire carry, row of tires, heavy jump rope, tubes, and of course a mud slide. Children must be at least six years old to participate in the race and anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a registered adult.

13) Marvel’s The Hero Within
Sunday May 17th 12:00pm and 3:00pm
Marvel’s “The Hero Within” is coming to iPlay America this weekend for two shows on Sunday in the event center. Featuring Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Evil Green Goblin — the Mighty Marvel Super Heroes star in this 25-minute educational, humorous, action-packed show that begins with the Green Goblin believing that he has developed a device to steal all powers from the Super Heroes. Children are encouraged to wear their favorite Marvel character’s costume for this high-energy family-friendly show!

14) Family Day at Montclair Art Museum

Alex’s Lemonade Days is an annual 3-day fundraiser where supporters from coast to coast hold lemonade stands to raise funds for childhood cancer research on behalf of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). Lemonade Days is held each year during the second weekend of June – the time of year when Alex always held her lemonade stand – to honor Alex and all of our childhood cancer heroes.
