Race around your community or your home and submit your best times and distances all October long.

This annual event supports the commitment that RWJBarnabas Health and the NJ Devils uphold to work towards a healthier community by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and world-class healthcare. This year, the live event is back on, and on October 24, you can sign up to run or have the whole family participate in the Live Wellness Walk that walks by all the animals at the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo. If you can’t go in person, you can still sign up and finish the race virtually, on your own time. And whatever way you participate,100% of the proceeds from the event will be used to support our essential Healthcare Heroes in their efforts to protect and build healthier communities.

“RWJBH is committed to providing our patients and their families with the most comprehensive and compassionate healthcare possible, even in the most challenging times,” said Barry H. Ostrowsky, President and Chief Executive Officer, RWJBarnabas Health. “This annual event aligns with our mission of building healthier communities, and I’m excited that we are offering opportunities to participate on-site or virtually at a convenient location within your community.”

You can still get in on the action of giving back by donating or contributing to someone you know that’s racing.

“The entire Devils organization is looking forward to the in-person return of the ‘Running with the Devils 5K Run and Walk,’ for its fifth year,” said New Jersey Devils President Jake Reynolds. “Our tremendous partners at RWJBarnabas Health have structured the challenge in a way that enables the community to take on the challenge in a capacity that they are comfortable with—in-person or virtually. This event not only brings our fans, organizations, and communities together but also allows us all to reflect on the importance and impact our healthcare heroes have had in the past 18 months. It will once again be a fantastic event that coincides with the start of what is sure to be an exciting season of Devils’ hockey in October!”
