Here Are 7 Kid-Friendly Virtual Events This Week

Yoga Loka Online Kids Yoga
April 17, 2 PM

Say ohm with Emi and Alli for a live streaming yoga class for kids ages 5-11. Not only will your kids get moving, but they’ll get in social time by meeting other kids via the Zoom format. And better yet, it’s FREE—just make sure you sign up and register ahead of time.

Sing for Hope
April 17, 8 PM

Become A Beacon Of Hope for those reaching for light in the darkness of cancer during this uncertain time. Each week, take in a live concert from a featured artist (April 17 is Sahara Moon Music) for an evening of music and hope, and text a donation—100% of funds raised will benefit NJ families affected by a cancer diagnosis.

Facebook Live Stream: Storytime with Mermaid Princess

Looking for a fun Saturday morning? Westfield Garden Plaza is hosting a virtual visit from the Mermaid Princess and she’ll be appearing via live-stream in your living room. She’ll read from a story and introduce your littles to her prince—the perfect chance for you to sneak in a little me-time while they listen.

Need a homeschool extra-curricular? Cape May Zoo is hosting a virtual Zoo School every weekday at 11:30 AM. Each day they will feature a short clip and lesson about a different animal and pose a challenge to complete off-line. Share photos or videos of your kids’ completed challenges via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram by using #cmczooschool.

 Mindfulness Classes for Kids

Now’s a good time for kids to learn mindfulness—a skill they’ll use for the rest of their lives. Free to Be has a free half an hour virtual mindfulness class for kids ages 5-10 for 30 minutes. In addition to moving and having fun, kids will learn how to focus, hone the ability to self-regulate emotion, gain a deeper sense of compassion for self and others, and work on mastering a higher level of patience.

Ballroom Dancing Lessons from Collingswood Connects
April 23, 6 PM

Get ready to box step and foxtrot: Introduce your kiddos to the basics of ballroom dancing, when the whole family joins in during this beginner’s social dance class, sponsored by Universal Dance Center through Collingswood Connects.
