With longer days and warmer temps, we’re finding lots of ways to celebrate the new season this week. Put on those goofy St. Patty’s Day hats and gather around the laptop for a livestream show of authentic Irish music by  Gaelic Storm from Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, make your reservations for the Six Flags Wild Safari Drive-Through Opening Day in Jackson, or experience the wonders of a Bald Eagle Walk in Millville.

Gaelic Storm: One for the Road
March 17, at 8 PM
Time to get your green on and dance a jig—the award-winning Celtic group, Gaelic Storm, will bring a virtual St. Patrick’s Day party that everyone will be singing about. Through a special live streamed concert, Gaelic Storm will sing original songs and some traditional pub songs. Hear authentic Irish music you can’t find anywhere else.

Six Flags Wild Drive-Through Safari Opening Day
March 20, 9 AM
This socially distanced experience is back for another season: Six Flags has opened their popular drive-through safari again, so you can see animals like lions, giraffes, elephants, baboons, tigers, and more from your car window. Springtime is even more special because along with the opening of the exhibit, there will be animal babies out and about, ready to play and show off. Stream the specialized audio tour to learn fun facts about each animal you drive by.

Virtual Saturday Storytime
March 20, 11 AM
Gather the littles around your computer screen and experience the magic of live storytelling. Whether it’s accessed through the Barnes and Noble Facebook page or YouTube channel, kids will be entranced by the simple, fun stories. This book of the week is “Mell Fell”, by Corey R. Tabor.

Drive-Up Petting Zoo and Unicorn Rides
March 20, 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
With this event, you can enjoy a socially distanced day at the Imagine That! Museum, while seeing over 20 animals in all. There’ll be alpacas, sheep, lambs, a miniature donkey, and so much more for the kids to pet. There will even be unicorn rides for the children, so don’t miss out on this magical adventure.

Bald Eagle Walk
March 21, 10 AM – 1 PM
Take a Saturday morning stroll along the Maurice River and observe the plants and wildlife in that area. Keep an eye out for the many bald eagles that live there- how many do you think you’ll be able to find? You’ll get some fresh air and a nature lesson, all at the same time.

Burble, Fizz, Kaboom Science Demonstration
March 21, 2 PM – 2:45 PM
This science lesson is nothing like you’ve seen in an ordinary textbook. Presenter Rand Whipple talks about chemical reactions and phase changes in a fun, exciting way that appeals to kids. Families will even learn how to shatter a marshmallow, showing kids you can find science anywhere—even in your kitchen.

World Down Syndrome Day Trivia Night
March 21, 7 PM – 9 PM
Play trivia and raise money for a good cause. The money raised from this event goes to foundations that support families and members of the community who have Down Syndrome. You can play as a team, family, individual, or couple to win cash prizes, and other fun prizes include an award for the best team name.
